All good things must come to an end, and the popular Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series is arriving at its end. But in its final season, Ultimate Spider-Man is giving us a similar theme to Dan Slott’s masterpiece comic story-arc, Spider-Verse: Web Warriors! Multiple Spider-Men in the same place at the same time is like Hasbro’s dream, and as such, they’ve now released their latest series of Marvel action figures, including three iterations of Spider-Man… and a new Agent Venom!
I wasn’t convinced that the new figures would have reached my New England area yet at all, but luckily, I came across a full peg at the store (the only peg allocated to these Web Warriors Ultimate Spider-Man figures), and got to see all of the figures in the assortment at once.
The Hasbro Ultimate Spider-Man Web Warriors series consists of four figures: a classic red-and-blue Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales, Iron Spider Spider-Man and Agent Venom.
These are all basic figures with five points of articulation, though it’s worth noting that each figure looks to be a totally unique mold and there does appear to be scale between the figures (as Agent Venom looks larger than Miles Morales).
The figures are larger than the 4″ scale of Marvel Universe/Marvel Infinite Series, but also smaller than the Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ figures, so they’re not really compatible with either line.
With a unique mold and some nice animated-style sculpting details, I like this Ultimate Spider-Man Agent Venom figure quite a bit (especially for 7 bucks).
I didn’t see the case put out for this series and I can’t find a case assortment listing for this set anywhere online, but the quantities at my local Toys R Us were:
(3) Web Warriors Spider-Man Figure
(2) Web Warriors Agent Venom Figure
(2) Web Warriors Iron Spider Figure
(1) Web Warriors Ultimate Spider-Man Figure
Ordinarily I’d expect to see Agent Venom as the shortpacked figure, so I’m guessing that this was only a partial case–shortpacking the Miles Morales figure would be a real bummer. Regardless, I can’t imagine it will be too difficult to find any of these figures at retail, as they’re far more kid-oriented than Marvel Legends and Marvel Infinite Series.
What do you think of the 2015 Ultimate Spider-Man Web Warriors figures, Marvel collectors? Are these unique-molded animated-style figures for you, or will you be passing on these 5POA Spider-Man action figures?
The only time Dan Slott and Masterpiece should only be in the same sentence is when the words “can’t write a” are between them.
I love Spider-Verse. It’s probably my favorite Spider-Man story in well over a decade.
Spider-Verse has been a lot of fun, best Spidey comics for years
