Kotobukiya has a real treat for collectors lined up to close out their 2013 lineup of Marvel Bishoujo statues: an all-new X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo statue! While Kotobukiya has released a Psylocke statue once before, the original Bishoujo Psylocke statue is 1:8 scale and out of scale with the current 1:7 scale Marvel Bishoujo figures being released (not to mention mega-expensive). But Kotobukiya has heard the demand for a new and properly scaled Marvel Bishoujo Psylocke Statue loud and clear–and she’s coming our way in December 2013!

There are a lot of things to love about this Kotobukiya Bishoujo Psylocke X-Force statue. I am eternally grateful to Kotobukiya for making this particular X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo statue less… provocative… and not something I’d be ashamed to have family and friends come over and see on my shelf. Don’t get me wrong–Psylocke is still hot (how could she not be and still be Psylocke?)–but this time she looks quite a bit more lethal and not nearly as “cheesecake” as a lot of the other Marvel Bishoujo statues Kotobukiya has released.

Ordinarily I’d complain about Kotobukiya doing another version of a character they’re previously released instead of a new character like Jubilee, but this X-Force Psylocke figure is such a knockout I can’t bring myself to grumble too much. I absolutely love the detailed, Asian terrain base that the Psylocke X-Force Bishoujo statue comes with. This base looks terrific and brings a real Asian flavor to the statue as a whole.

Perhaps the most popular female character in the Marvel Universe (or at least the X-Men wing of it), Kotobukiya first released a Psylocke Bishoujo statue in 2010. Three years later, that Psylocke figure is nigh-impossible to purchase for less than double or sometimes triple its original price. Psylocke’s popularity continues to grow, and there just aren’t enough of that particular Bishoujo Psylocke statue to go around. So what’s a company like Kotobukiya to do, other than release a new and improved Psylocke statue?

The X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo statue is now up for pre-order with a price tag of $54.99, and is scheduled to be released by Kotobukiya in December 2013. I’ll update with more photos and information as Kotobukiya releases them.
