Funko is the king of variant figures, and over the course of the past year one of their most frequent “go to”s for variant ideas is the tried-and-true tradition of “unmasked superhero” figures! Funko unmasked Spider-Man, Iron Patriot and Iron Man as convention exclusives in 2013, and the Funko Unmasked Star-Lord POP! Vinyl figure exclusive just started shipping. Of course, Marvel had another big star who’s always been wearing a mask before for his POP! Vinyls, and Funko just couldn’t let that fly: the Funko Unmasked Captain America POP! Vinyl exclusive is now up for order!

Well, now you don’t have to! Although the official release of the Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyls isn’t expected to be until the last week of June, you can have a little bit of extra raccoon in your life early, as a Funko Hot Topic Exclusive Rocket Raccoon pre-release edition POP Vinyl is now available!

As I’m pretty familiar with Funko’s practices, I instantly knew that the Funko Unmasked Star Lord was going to end up being an exclusive release–and it turns out I was right. If you’ve been waiting to pre-order, you’re in luck: the Chris Pratt Star-Lord Funko POP! Vinyl figure is now available for order!
Continue Reading →Although Funko teased a whole series of Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Minis vinyl figures last winter, we didn’t get to see a peek at them until the New York Toy Fair 2014–and that was only some concept art in the Funko 2014 catalog marked “Confidential”. Not wanting Funko to bust my head, I couldn’t share that artwork–but today, there’s nothing left to hide! Funko has fully-revealed the set, and the Funko Mystery Minis Guardians of the Galaxy set is now available for order!
Continue Reading →Funko is the uncrowned king of toy exclusives in the modern day collecting world, so it should surprise no one that yet another unannounced Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls figure has now appeared. What may surprise some folks, however, is where, as the latest Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl has turned up only in Japan!
But if you want this exclusive Funko Metallic Amazing Spider-Man 2 POP! Vinyl figure, you may have to not only travel to Japan, but travel back in time as well…
Continue Reading →It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year, but we’re a scant two months away from San Diego Comic Con 2014, and the march toward the biggest Comic-Con of the year is beginning now in full force! And if there’s one company that knows how to fully exploit collectors at SDCC each year, it’s Funko. This year, Funko will be bringing a soul-crushing 86 exclusives to SDCC 2014, and based on the list of hints Funko has given us, we know at least thirteen of those will be Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives…

I’ve got my reservations about this movie, but I’m willing to turn my super-critical brain off and do my best to enjoy it this weekend. But while I prepare for that, it’s finally time for me to review some Amazing Spider-Man 2 toys I’ve been holding onto for a while. First up, it’s the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Funko POP! Vinyls figures of Spider-Man and Electro!

Despite tying in with the latest Marvel movies and having a high-profile primetime television spot, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. toys are non-existent. So when the Funko Agent Coulson POP Vinyls figure went up for order on Entertainment Earth, I instantly knew he would be mine. Now that the Agents of SHIELD Agent Coulson Funko POP! Vinyl has arrived, I’m both overjoyed and a little disappointed…
Continue Reading →It’s been over three weeks since the last unannounced Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls exclusive turned up in stores. There was a real possibility that we might end up going a full month without a new Marvel POP! Vinyl variant turning up (oh, the humanity), but that peril has been avoided! Out of the blue (no pun intended), a Hot Topic Exclusive Funko Metallic Electro POP! Vinyls figure from Amazing Spider-Man 2 has shockingly appeared! (Okay, that last pun was intentional…)
Continue Reading →Ordinarily I don’t like ordering Marvel Funko POP Vinyls online, as I’m pretty OCD about paint applications. But, well, I was having trouble finding the Captain America The Winter Soldier POP Vinyls in my area, Amazon had the Funko Black Widow POP Vinyl for $9 shipped, and now she’s sitting on my desk.
Is this Black Widow Funko POP Vinyl a little $9 masterpiece? Read on…
Continue Reading →The Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 figures and packaging looked complete and ready to go at the 2014 Toy Fair last month, and now the Marvel Mystery Minis are upon us!
And surprise–there’s not one, not two, not three, but four Hot Topic exclusive Marvel Mystery Minis vinyl figures! And if you’re a completist, be afraid: one of them is one per 144 blind boxes…
Continue Reading →Another day, another Funko variant. Last week I talked about the unannounced release of the Barnes and Noble exclusive Funko Black & White Captain America POP! Vinyls figure. Cap is an old-timey kind of guy and Funko loves their black and white variants, so that release was pretty commonplace. This latest release is going to be one that’s a lot more unexpected, however–the exclusive Funko Glow-in-the-Dark Captain America POP Vinyls figure! (Yes, that’s right–I said “Glow-in-the-Dark Captain America. Seriously.)
Continue Reading →Of the hundreds of new products that I saw at the 2014 Toy Fair International, the most enigmatic one turned out to be one of the smallest. Within a couple seconds of walking into the Funko booth, I saw a couple orange Deadpool Mystery Minis variants on display. I asked two of the workers at the booth about this mysterious Funko orange Deadpool, but neither knew the details on it. I should have kept asking, though, because on this week’s Marvelicious Toys Podcast Issue 111, they spill the goods on exactly where this orange Deadpool may be exclusive to…
Continue Reading →I’m approaching the end of the photos I took in my one-day speed-run of Toy Fair 2014, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t take some time to discuss a couple items most collectors (besides me) aren’t going to care about too much: the Funko Guardians of the Galaxy and Amazing Spider-Man 2 Wacky Wobblers! Wacky Wobblers are infinitesimally less popular than their POP! Vinyls brethren, but I think the Funko Rocket Raccoon and Star Lord Wacky Wobblers are some of the best offerings Funko has ever come up with for the line…
Continue Reading →Many companies brought half-finished packaging for their upcoming products to New York Toy Fair 2014, and some brought no packaging at all. But one company that brought the fully-designed, real deal to the show was Funko (along with about a million new figures)! Particularly nice is their Guardians of the Galaxy packaging, which looks quite different from the usual Funko Marvel packaging. And if you turned around the boxes on display, you got a special treat–the first look at an unannounced Unmasked Star Lord POP Vinyls figure!
