A couple years back, it looked like the Play Arts Kai Marvel Variant line might be on its last legs when they released a trio of straight-up “Special Color Version” repaints. Among these was an Iron Man Special Color Ver. figure that had been repainted into War Machine colors. At the time, that seemed likely to be the only Play Arts War Machine figure that would ever be produced. But there’s bucks to be made on revisiting the second most popular Iron Man character, and Square-Enix is set on making them–the Play Arts Kai War Machine figure is now up for order!

Diamond Select Toys has exploded onto the Marvel statue scene in the past year like dynamite, and now they’re continuing that trend with some new 1/6 scale Marvel Premier Collection resin statues coming our way this winter. Last month, Iron Studios got my attention when they showed off their really neat comic-based Spider-Man and friends on bridge Battle Diorama Series statues. This month, Iron Studios apparently wants more than just my attention–they want my money. And the easiest way to get it out of me is the same as always–with the Guardians of the Galaxy! At this point in late summer, merchandisers are firmly going all-in with Thor Ragnarok toys and pretty much every toy coming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man Homecoming has gone up for sale. As I think we’ve probably all been expecting, Marvel toy news has been a little bit sparse the last few days (what with San Diego Comic Con–the biggest toy reveal event of the year–being next week and all). But while there’s nothing newly revealed to talk about, that makes this the perfect time to discuss something newly-released!
