As Star Wars Celebration Anaheim rolls on overseas, things are definitely not all quiet on the Marvel front! Hot on the heels of the Bandai SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures going up for order earlier this month, Bandai has opened Asian web-only pre-orders for their next exclusive Marvel figure–and this one is going to be a toughie to acquire! It’s the Asian web-only, limited release SH Figuarts War Machine Mark II figure!

Yesterday I discussed the two recently-released Hasbro Titan Hero Ultron figures, but those aren’t the only new killer robots on the block!
Hasbro has surprised us with another antagonistic android action figure, and this one is a Target exclusive: it’s the Marvel Super Hero Mashers Avengers Age of Ultron three-pack with Ultron, Hulk and Black Costume Captain America figures!
Continue Reading →“Your armor is a joke–just like your species!” Although the Hasbro Avengers Age of Ultron toys have been on shelves for a couple of months now, there was a little something missing from most of the lines that have been released: a little something called Ultron himself!
But two new Hasbro Ultron figures have now appeared in stores: Titan Hero Ultron and the electronic, smack-talking Titan Tech Ultron figure!
Continue Reading →With all of the recent releases in the past month from the more collector-oriented lines like Marvel Select, Marvel Legends and Marvel Infinite Series, I’ve neglected reporting on new figures from one of my favorite guilty-pleasure lines: Marvel Super Hero Mashers! If you’re a mash-up fan, get excited, because new Marvel Mashers Groot, Skaar, Logan, Bearded Thor and more have now been released online and in stores!
Continue Reading →Earlier this week, I discussed the latest Bandai S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Age of Ultron figure to be revealed: Iron Man Mark XLV.
But while Iron Man Mark 45 was just revealed this week, the remaining Avengers SH Figuarts figures that we first saw teased months ago are also finally getting their day in the sun: the SH Figuarts Hulk, Thor and Captain America figures are now up for order!
Continue Reading →Now that we’re less than one month out from the theatrical release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, we’ve seen pretty clear looks at every character design from the movie that isn’t top-secret. Well, every character design except one–until now! While nearly every toy manufacturer out there is repainting old Iron Man Mark 42 collectibles into Mark 43, and everyone is wild for the Mark 44 Hulkbuster Iron Man, poor Mark 45 has slipped through the cracks! But no longer–the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 45 figure has now been fully revealed!

Disney has virtually eliminated all trading at the Disney Parks, and the number of series and limited-edition sets coming out this year is a meager fraction of what we’ve seen in past years. But one Vinylmation series that still seems to be strong and fervently-collected is the Vinylmation Marvel series! And before the Vinylmation Avengers series hits this summer, Disney has a surprise LE set lined up for us next month: Vinylmation Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk!
Continue Reading →I know that there’s no way that I can one-up the unbridled excitement that yesterday’s discussion of this year’s Marvel Candy Bowls drummed up, so I’m not even going to try to match that high mark today. No, instead I’m going to talk about something a little more mass-market today. Hasbro has been pleased with the performance of its Marvel Super Hero Mashers toy line over the past year, and in honor of the Avengers Age of Ultron movie, they’re giving us one of the most loaded sets yet: the Marvel Mashers Ultimate Avengers Set with Stealth Iron Man and Captain America figures!
Continue Reading →I mentioned in my review of the Jubilee Bishoujo statue yesterday that there was a first time for everything. Well, I guess today it’s time for another first, because I’m going to be discussing something that can probably only be considered a “toy” at all by the barest of margins. The latest Marvel statues (of a sort) come from Rubie’s Costume Company–and they actually serve a functional purpose! The Rocket Raccoon, Thor and Venom Candy Bowl Holders are now up for order!
Continue Reading →Ever since toy manufacturers began revealing the lineups for their Avengers: Age of Ultron toys, collectors have been complaining about the lack of Scarlet Witch, Vision and Quicksilver figures. We’re getting LEGO and Minimates versions of all three, as well as comics-based Marvel Legends Vision and Scarlet Witch figures. Quicksilver has really gotten the bum’s rush, however. But now you can rejoice, collectors–because Hasbro has finally released the Quicksilver action figure we’ve all been waiting for: the Titan Hero Quicksilver figure has now been released!
Continue Reading →Though it’s going to take me several more weeks to complete my coverage of each and every new LEGO Summer 2015 set shown at New York Toy Fair 2015 over on my LEGO site, there’s just one more LEGO Marvel set to discuss here! It may be a small and cheap entry in the line, but LEGO Carnage’s SHIELD Sky Attack 76036 is going to be a blockbuster value-priced set!
Continue Reading →Over the weekend I discussed the two new Marvel Play Arts Kai figures I wasn’t expecting to see revealed at the New York Toy Fair 2015–Play Arts Thor and Venom–but I haven’t stopped to chat about the new figure that I was expecting to see.
The second figure in the Play Arts Kai Marvel figure line was on display at the 2015 Toy Fair for the very first time: the Play Arts Kai Spider-Man figure!
Continue Reading →While Hasbro Marvel Legends reigns supreme as the best 6″ Marvel figure line in the United States, Hasbro has much tougher competition if you broaden your search to international figures. And when it comes to 1/12 action figures (6″ scale), there’s no greater competition than with Bandai SH Figuarts!
Although Bandai previously stuck to Iron Man figures, this year, they’re expanding with a series of SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures…
Continue Reading →Going into last week’s New York Toy Fair 2015, I thought we’d be lucky if Square-Enix just brought along a prototype of the second Marvel Play Arts Kai figure: Spider-Man.
But I underestimated Square-Enix. Not only did they have the finished Spidey on display at their booth, but also the third action figure in the lineup, Play Arts Kai Thor, and even concept art for the fourth figure: Play Arts Kai Venom!
Continue Reading →I swear I never intended for it to happen, but I developed a genuine affinity to the kid-aimed Marvel Super Hero Mashers line of action figures last year. And while the line has been, uh, “less” warmly received by collectors than it has been by children, it’s turned out to be a solid seller at retail stores. So while Marvel Mashers aren’t the apple of every Marvel fan’s eye, the line will be continuing with plenty of new and popular characters this year. And at the New York Toy Fair 2015 over the weekend, Hasbro revealed the 2015 Marvel Mashers Carnage, Nova, Ant-Man, Rocket Raccoon and more!
