Paying $200-$300 each for a 1/6 Hot Toys 12″ Iron Man action figure was a pretty difficult thing transition for me to make. Getting me to pay $100+ for a 1/12 scale 6″ figure, however, is something I would have said is impossible.

And yet–somehow, some way–Play Imaginative now has me contemplating purchasing not one, but four $100+ 1/12 Super Alloy Iron Man 2 Drones figures…

Marvel Vinylmation Series 1 Figures Photos Debut at D23 Expo 2013!

We knew going into this weekend’s D23 Expo 2013 that that first series of Disney Vinylmation Marvel figures wasn’t going to be until fall, so there were zero expectations for an early release at the convention or anything like that. But sometimes it’s nice to have the bar set low, because then you can be pleasantly surprised!

No, Disney didn’t sell the series at the show, but they did give out free promotional trading cards showing off photos of the Vinylmation Marvel Series 1 figures for the very first time!

Hallmark Ornament Premiere comes but twice a year (no, seriously, they have two), and this year’s event brought with it the release of two brand new 2013 Marvel Hallmark Ornaments! For fans of the Marvel movies, it’s an Iron Patriot ornament in honor of this year’s “Iron Man 3” movie! And for comic book and cartoon fans, there’s a classic Spider-Man ornament that plays a familiar jingle. I stopped by my local Hallmark to check out both!

I don’t just like Shuma Gorath. I love Shuma Gorath. No, seriously. How much do I love Shuma Gorath? I mained Shuma Gorath in every Capcom video game he’s appeared in, including Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In fact, I am wearing a Shuma Gorath T-Shirt right now, even though I had no conception whatsoever that I’d be writing about Shuma Gorath today (as the opportunity to do so has literally never come up before). Anyway, my point is that I love Shuma-Gorath, and the relevance of that fact is that I just ordered my first Shuma Gorath figure ever this afternoon–the Heroclix Shuma Gorath 2013 Convention Exclusive figure!

Supposedly “it’s better late than never”, but I feel like that expression is getting stretched just a little bit by the new Marvel figures just released by Bandai. While the rest of the toy companies of the world have rushed to flood the market with figures and products from the 2013 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 3” movie, Bandai is countering with two all-new figures based on “Iron Man 2”! Yeah, as in, “The Iron Man movie from 2010”. But hey, even if the figures are a little late, at least Bandai is bringing something rockin’ to the table–the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark VI and War Machine figures!
