Though the first photos of Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 leaked out a little bit earlier this month, we’ve had to wait a bit for Funko to confirm the assortment and send out hi-res images of the set. Well, not only has Funko done all that today, but they’ve also shown off the packaging for the Marvel Funko Mystery Minis for the first time, shared the rarity scale for the figures and put Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 up for order! And if you want a complete set of Marvel Mystery Minis, be prepared to spend a lot of money buying blind boxes and hunting for the rarest figures…
- The colors on the Funko Thanos Mystery Minis figure have been changed since the preview photo posted a few weeks ago. He’s now in his iconic blue costume. Phew!
- As confirmed by the text on the case, these will be 2.5″ vinyl bobble-head figures and not just plastic PVC figures like the other Mystery Minis Funko has released. Basically, think of these as miniature Funko POP Vinyls figures.
- Like most Funko Mystery Minis Series, the Mystery Minis Marvel Series #1 cases will contain 24 blind boxes per case.
- Collectors will not be able to complete their sets by purchasing one full case of Funko Marvel Mystery Minis blind boxes. In fact, some figures are one-per-six cases–Yikes!!
The Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 Rarity Scale is as follows:
Common
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Hulk — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Thor — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Loki (No Staff) — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Spider-Man — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Green Goblin — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Deadpool — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Punisher — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Galactus — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Dr. Doom — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Scarlet Witch — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Silver Surfer — 2 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Uncommon
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Dark Phoenix — 1 per 24 blind boxes or 1 Full Case
Rare
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Thanos — 1 per 72 blind boxes or 3 Full Cases
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Ultron — 1 per 72 blind boxes or 3 Full Cases
Ultra Rare
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Deadpool with Guns — 1 per 144 blind boxes or 6 Full Cases
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Loki with Staff — 1 per 144 blind boxes or 6 Full Cases
With only one Deadpool Mystery Minis figure with guns and one Loki Mystery Minis figure with staff in every six cases of blind boxes, I think I’m going to have to aim for one of every character as opposed to being a completionist with the whole Marvel Mystery Minis line. At one per 144 blind boxes ($5-$6 each), hunting the ultra-rare figures could get really expensive really fast!
Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 Cases are now available for order, with an expected arrival in April 2014. Now that you know the rarities of the Marvel Funko Mystery Minis Series 1 figures, how are you feeling about the assortment, Marvel collectors? Are you still planning to be a completist with the line, or does the idea of having to hunt for figures that are only one-per-three-cases or one-per-six-cases utterly terrify you?
I actually just got the deadpool with 2 guns.
