Trying to collect Funko POP! Vinyls is a serious undertaking. The number of products Funko is releasing now on a yearly basis is downright insane, and Funko gives out exclusives like candy. Tracking down all of the exclusives is expensive business–but far better than waiting and paying aftermarket prices for them later on, as Funko exclusives are never reissued. At least they weren’t reissued… until now! If you missed him last year, you have another shot: the Hot Topic exclusive Funko X-Force Wolverine POP! Vinyl is back!

The Funko Wolverine X-Force POP Vinyls Hot Topic exclusive was one of the better-selling Funko store exclusives for 2013. In fact, it apparently was so popular that it’s making an encore tour this summer to Hot Topic stores nationwide!

I was a mite skeptical when I heard folks had sighted the previously sold-out X-Force Wolverine Funko POP Vinyl in their local Hot Topic stores this month, as the figure has been long-gone from stores and selling regularly in the range of $30-$70 on the aftermarket.

But sure enough, I wandered into my closest Hot Topic store (which, believe me, I try to do as rarely as possible) and spotted a half-dozen X-Force Wolverine vinyls staring back at me for their original retail price. Upon close inspection, this appears to be an exact reproduction of the original Funko Wolverine X-Force variant release with the same packaging, sticker, paint and so forth.

I imagine a lot of collectors who own the original Funko POP! Vinyl X-Force Wolverine are going to be pretty miffed about this, as a sold-out Funko exclusive going back into print is unprecedented. But if you need this black and grey Wolverine vinyl figure, now’s the time to get him from your local store! (Hot Topic online is currently sold out, but I’d be surprised if they don’t restock soon as well.)
