Playing a little bit of catch-up today, let’s talk about the two most recent Marvel Legends pre-orders. The motif here seems to be filling in things missing from previous lineups: namely, a “standard” movie Deadpool from Deadpool & Wolverine wave 2 and a solo release of Hulk’s most popular villain: the Marvel Legends Dogpool & Deadpool set and deluxe Abomination are now up for order!

Unfortunately, while I would love to be championing this as the “Ultimate” Abomination figure, I’m less enthused about this deluxe Abomination than I’d ideally like to be.
If you have the GamerVerse Abomination Build-A-Figure from the 2020 Avengers GamerVerse series (shown above), then you (mostly) have this figure already. Hasbro added 3 new heads for this remixed figures, changed up the paint somewhat… and that’s really about it.
The result is a figure that is striving to feel comics-based, but falls short of what I think most classic fans envisioned. The feet still don’t look correct, the ears on the Abomination heads don’t look quite right, and the tattered shorts instead of trunks don’t feel classic at all.
Worst, Hasbro inexplicably opted to not include fists with this guy—a villain known primarily for smashing shit up. The grotesque Immortal Hulk era head is a neat extra, but I suspect a majority of fans would have much preferred a pair of fists instead.
Still, this is a readily obtainable and semi-reasonably priced Abomination, and I think for many collectors it’ll be “good enough” to scratch that itch and fill a gap. This is the first in a sub-line of special “Hulk”-centric Marvel Legends releases this year, so fingers crossed the next reveals are a bit more alluring.
The other deluxe release launched at the end of January is none other than movie Dogpool, who comes with his own 6” super-articulated Deadpool figure accessory! This is a release that I feel way, way more positively about than the new Abomination (sorry, Emil)!
Marvel Legends Deadpool & Wolverine Wave 2 surely felt a little lacking without an action figure of Deadpool proper, but this deluxe release gives me everything I ever wanted from a Deadpool 3 movie figure.
Dogpool looks very nicely done for an unarticulated mini figurine, with lots of paint detailing to prevent it from feeling like a cash grab afterthought. Dogpool getting top billing on the packaging is hilarious and really makes me smile.
But as much as I dig the Dogpool figure, I think Hasbro did just as good with the rest of Deadpool’s “fun” add-ons. The “Hulk hands” are hysterical, and the opening scene fight with Deadpool using Wolverine’s skeleton to battle the TVA while *NSYNC plays is legit among my favorite MCU scenes ever.
Getting the Wolverine claws, skull, spine, etc. here is a real delight (that I’m honestly a bit surprised that the licensor approved of). Great job, Hasbro!
Marvel Legends Deadpool/Dogpool and Abomination are now up for order, with Abomination already beginning to ship out (somehow) and the Deadpool set arriving in a few months. Are either of these releases on your 2026 shopping list, Marvel Legends collectors?
