Fantastic Four: First Steps was not a hit in my household, so I haven’t exactly been clamoring for new figures of Marvel’s first family since the movie hit last summer. But Hasbro evidently knew exactly what comics-based iteration of the team I would buy—and this month, they’re sweeping in for the kill! Based on the landmark FF run by Jonathan Hickman, Marvel Legends future Foundation Spider-Man and Mr. Fantastic are now up for order!

I don’t like to rain on other fans’ parades, so I’ll keep my commentary on last year’s MCU Fantastic Four: First Steps movie to myself. I’ll just say that I was gravely disappointed by that film, which let a lot of wind out of my F4 collecting sails.
But while that bit of multimedia was not to my liking, it didn’t wipe out my close to four decades of Fantastic Four fandom. And so, it was just a matter of Hasbro finding the right well to mine to get my dollars—and they absolutely succeeded at that.
Jonathan Hickman is my favorite comic book writer of perhaps my entire life, so bringing costumes to life from his Fantastic Four run will always net Hasbro easy dollars from me. In this case, that’ll be in the form of two Future Foundation Marvel Legends two-packs. Let’s take a look at this first two-pack Hasbro has me lusting for…
Future Foundation Spider-Man was my first favorite Marvel Legends figure when Hasbro brought the line back in 2012. That Arnim Zola BAF wave figure was awesome for its time, but the white suit on my Spidey started to yellow a while back, and I’ve been ready for a modern update I wasn’t sure would ever come.
Finally, Future Foundation Spider-Man’s day has come again, and he’s swinging back in in his white costume with upgraded articulation and pin-free joints! I think this is easily among the coolest Spidey costumes ever, and I think it really shines without ugly pins marring the aesthetic. The proportions look better on FF Spider-Man this time, and he comes with 3 total sets of hands compared to the original version’s whopping 1.
Reed Richards tends to be a tougher sell than the rest of the team, which is why Hasbro has wisely paired him into a pack with this must-buy Spider-Man (and Invisible Woman with The Thing). Johnny was “dead” for the vast majority of this era, for those who don’t remember.
This is the first time this iteration of Mr. Fantastic is being produced in 6” form—and he looks pretty swell. I personally don’t mind the reused stretchy fingers look, but the popular bendable arms for Reed are back too. There’s also non-stretched arms and an Ultimate Nullifier to complete the options, giving most folks a display choice they’ll prefer.
The 2026 Marvel Legends Future Foundation Mr. Fantastic and Spider-Man two-pack is up for order this afternoon, with a scheduled arrival late this summer. I’m a little bitter it took well over a decade to get these figures, thus causing this pack to be over 50 bucks now, but this looks to be one of my favorite ML releases this year and a must-buy for me nonetheless.
Does this Future Foundation strike the right cords for your dollars as well, Marvel collectors?

Love the Future Foundation costumes, especially Spider-Man’s. Definitely getting this.
