San Diego Comic-Con 2020 may not be occurring next week as original scheduled, but many toy companies and retailers are rolling out exclusives of their own this month—physical convention or no! And part of this initiative is Walmart Collector Con, which kicked off today with a huge variety of exclusive toys up for order—including the Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Movie Cable & Venomized Captain America figures that debuted at New York Toy Fair 2020!
We kicked off the week with the 20th Anniversary X-Men movie Marvel Legends figures going up for order, so it feels appropriate to end the week on a similar note with another X-Men related figure going up for sale: Cable!
First appearing in the Deadpool 2 movie in 2018, Cable is hugely popular and oft-associated with Deadpool. So when Hasbro announced Deadpool movie figures at the 2020 Toy Fair, the inclusion of Cable didn’t really come as a shock to anyone. And while the other Marvel Legends Deadpool movie figures have yet to be solicited, Cable is now kicking off the line as part of Walmart Collector Con!
This is our first look at the movie Deadpool Legends packaging, and it is frankly awesome. This is some of the most unique and fun packaging we’ve ever seen from Hasbro, and I love it.
I think that the Josh Brolin portrait on this figure is actually a very decent likeness for the scale. Looks good to me. Having a Josh Brolin Cable on the shelf next to Josh Brolin Thanos will feel a bit weird, though!
The bad news is that Cable is part of the higher-priced “premium” line of Marvel Legends figures for the year (this year that’s the X-Men/Deadpool movie lines), so he costs an extra 5 bucks and carries a $24.99 MSRP.
The good news is that he’ll come with three guns and four interchangeable hands, so we’ll get a decent weapons load out with him. And since he’s part of the premium line, there’s plenty of unique tooling and corners shouldn’t be cut on the paint deco either.
Hasbro has one other Walmart Collector Con exclusive up for sale today, and it also debuted at the 2020 New York Toy Fair: Maximum Venom Marvel Legends Venomized Captain America.
Now, honestly, I don’t know if this is a character that fans were falling over each other to demand or anything, but I actually dig this gnarly, symbiote-covered Captain America figure. The symbiote ooze all over Cap’s shield looks sweet. I don’t buy every variant I think is superfluous—but this is one I absolutely want.
The Walmart Collector Con Venomized Captain America and movie Cable figures are now up for order, with estimated shipping dates in October/November 2020. As Walmart exclusives can be very dicey to find in retail stores, ordering these online while they’re still available for pre-order seems like a safer and less troublesome way of acquiring this Collector Con duo.
Raise your hands if you’re planning on picking up either of these Walmart Exclusives, Marvel collectors! Does the limited nature of these figures contribute to whether or not you plan to purchase them? And are you interested in the other upcoming Deadpool movie and Venomized Legends as well?
already out of stock at walmart online. I hate both walmart online and walmart in genera.l I wouldn’t go to walmart before the pandemic certainly wouldn’t go there now to search for a action figure.
I’m with you on that. Terrible store. I’ve never been able to get any Walmart exclusive Marvel Legends figure. Not a single one. Online or at the store. I don’t understand how they keep getting exclusives. I have kids who like these figures and somehow anything from Walmart ends up in the hands of resellers. It’s a shame this is only at Walmart, and it’s strange that they get exclusive sale of what to me seems to be every figure my kids show interest in. They also like venomized cap. Every damn time. Happened with winter soldier, Loki and corvus or whatever, thanos, and at least 5 or 6 other times. I try to encourage them to use their imaginations and play with action figures as opposed to sitting there on their iPads, but that’s getting more and more difficult as these figures get harder to obtain and prohibitively expensive if you buckle and go to a 3rd party reseller, and like I said, they seem to get all of them. I should also say that I don’t know anyone in my group of friends who has managed to get any Walmart exclusive Marvel Legends figure at an actual Walmart or on the Walmart website. Just an observation.
I’m with you on this as well. I have the same problem with Walgreens as Wal-Mart, can never find the exclusives in any of the neighboring stores. I travel within a 50 mile radius to try and find these exclusives only to end up having to purchase from 3rd party sources if I want them and paying alot more than 24.99 for them. Target has been the only retailer that I’ve been able to find exclusives in and that has been rare.
And a teddy bear? What’s that about? I admit I’m not familiar enough with Cable to even guess what it’s there.
It’s his daughter’s, he keeps it after finding her dead in Deadpool 2.
I do believe it is his daughters.
Since this is the movie version Cable, yeah, as everyone said, it’s his dead daughters. It was explained in the movie.
You told/sold it well Dabid for why it’s higher priced because of the guns/hands and better tooling and paint. So, ordered Cable and Zombie DeadPool Pop to hit that $35 for free shipping – even lists that I will have it 10/7. -J ^_~ HavaTaco
This is one of those times living in London is great. No Wal-Mart, so no disappointment. Tgese are available at all uk online stores. I got Cable, did not like Cap A covered in a bit of plastic.
Not into the movie figures very much, but if I were, that’s a very nice version of Cable. As far as the other one, I’m not up for venom-izing every character, one at a time, until they are all oozie and toothy. But now I’m thinking through what some other venom-ized characters could be like. Ant Man? He’s tiny and uses his ooze like a sling shot and then grows to normal size in mid air right in front of you and bites your head off. Or venom-ized Ghost Rider… entire bike is both flaming and oozing with venom skull head.
Cable’s already sold out.
I hate exclusives. As a mom of a rabid 9-year-old Marvel fan, I cannot complete with the collectors. All I know is my kid wants to play with them, and I hate knowing that most of these figures will sit in a box on a shelf, untouched.
I’ve been lucky grabbing exclusives up until this year it seems. Cable I can take or leave but Venomized Cap is definitely something I’ll do some scouring for. Wasn’t even looking for Worthy Cap last year, and there it was hanging out with the Fortnite figures. Hopefully, I have similar fortunes but I haven’t even seen the gray Black Widow exclusive at any Walmart stores.
I believe I was just lucky enough to snag a pre-order for Cable and it was the last one left available! Thankfully, I was also able to get my employee discount too!!
