Marvel Legends has had a flurry of pre-orders since SDCC 2025 last month, with a surprising number of which being for items not even shown or revealed during that event. Today brings us another pair of figures that were just revealed over the past week, and both are updates that may appeal to the X-Men crowd: Marvel Legends Maximum Deadpool (with Doop!) and a solo release of the Strong Guy BAF are now up for order!

And as a total X-Men diehard, nothing catches my flighty attention in quite the same way as some 90s mutants. And so, Hasbro has hit on the right cords with me with both of the 6 “ figures that they’re launching today. But will these figures get my dollars in addition to my attention? Let’s take a look.
First of all, we’ve got Marvel Legends Maximum Deadpool, the third character released in the ML Maximum series. Specifically, this is the Marvel NOW! Design for Deadpool, which has been quite popular with toy companies over the years.
This particular Max Deadpool is a 100% new sculpt, with spot-on proportions and modern super-articulation. The base Deadpool action figure here looks really, really slick, even if I might have preferred a less-done version of Wade.
As a blast from the past homage, Deadpool Maximum will be coming with a pack-in figure of Doop—just like the first-ever 6” Marvel Legends Deadpool figure ever by Toybiz, way back in 2004!
As realistically the only X-Statix character that will ever get a mass retail release, it’s really nice to see Doop making a new appearance here. Some alternate arms or even just adding a little camcorder for him to hold would have really enhanced this Doop figure, but as an accessory I’m glad to get him any way we can.
But speaking of accessory omissions—I’d be lying if I pretended Deadpool came with everything I would want. While he comes with a whole crapload of guns and hands, some items I would hope to see are noticeably absent.
Deadpool is such an incredibly expressive character that it’s really weird not to get any exaggerated eyes or expressions for him, a feature that import companies have really spoiled us with.
In addition, this Deadpool lacks an unmasked head, true katanas (the swords he comes with seem rather short) and just fun little extras like a squirt gun (which Hasbro has given us before). “Maximum” is just a name for this series, but it does sort of feel like a misnomer here.
Joining Deadpool & Doop for the new pre-order is the first ever standalone release of Marvel Legends Strong Guy. This is a minor update to the Strong Guy Build-A-Figure I reviewed back in 2020, from the Pirate Deadpool/X-Force wave.
In that review, I concluded that “if Hasbro decides to reissue an upgrade of this figure in a couple years with more paint deco and a new head, I’ll have no qualms about buying it again.” 5 years later, here we are—Strong Guy deluxe with TWO new heads and better paint deco!
The new paint is a big improvement, as the pure yellow looks much nicer than the yellow-orange “school bus”-like yellow of the original release. And thank God—Hasbro actually painted Strong Guy’s zipper this time. Having Guido heads not permanently smiling dumbly is also a welcome option.
The barbell helps to recreate the 90s trading card art, so it’s a valid accessory even if few collectors ever display it. And the thumbs up hand is a fun extra that will pair best when utilizing the 2020 head.
X-Factor Havok and Polaris (original release shown above) are rumored for an update or re-release in the next year, so I think it’s smart to have a singles release of Strong Guy available to join them. Grab those Wolfsbane and Multiple Man figures while you can, Peter David X-Factor fans!
Marvel Legends Strong Guy and Maximum Deadpool with Doop are now up for order, and expected to arrive this winter. Deadpool always sells well without fail, and I think Wade Wilson will sell out during pre-orders once again here, even if he doesn’t quite feel “maximum”.
What do you think of this latest pair of solicitations, Marvel collectors? Will either of these releases be joining -your- collection?
