While their Marvel collector-oriented releases for 2014 are just about at an end, Hasbro still has a plethora of kid-focused, “fun” Marvel action figures lined up to be released in the second half of 2014! The Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures are a line that I legit thought were some sort of prank when they debuted, but their fun and stylized look has really started to grow on me. And now I’ve ordered a pair of Marvel Mashers figures online for the first time ever. Why? Because it’s two characters I can never seem to pass on–the Marvel Mashers Deadpool and Red Hulk figures have now been released!
But with the latest pair of releases in the Marvel Mashers Deluxe Figures line, Hasbro has moved firmly into the realm of the modern and popular with two characters whose stars have really risen in the past decade (especially since one of them didn’t exist a decade ago): Marvel Mashers Red Hulk and Deadpool!
With the Hulk and the Agents of SMASH cartoon series a pretty big hit with kids (and some adults), the time is definitely right for the most powerful (and most red) Hulk around to make his debut in the Marvel Mashers line. As part of the deluxe Marvel Super Hero Mashers assortment, the Red Hulk Mashers figure includes a couple of rocket launchers. While I’d ordinarily groan at including accessories like those with a Hulk figure, Red Hulk is the one Hulk who’s actually use armaments like that, so it’s A-OK with me!
More interesting than the guns, however, is the “mash-up” accessory that comes with Red Hulk: Marvel Mashers Colossus’ hand! No Marvel Mashers Colossus figure was shown at SDCC 2014, so my best guess is that Colossus will show up in the Marvel Mashers 2015 figures line.
The Marvel Super Hero Mashers Deadpool action figure includes two swords, two shurikens, a mash-up Venom arm, and a, uh… bicep-mounted rocket launcher. Deadpool’s a kooky kind of guy, so… yeah. He might mount a rocket launcher on his bicep. Maybe…
The Marvel Super Hero Mashers Red Hulk and Deadpool figures are now available for order online. I haven’t heard of these two figures being sighted at any physical retail stores yet, but I imagine they’ll be popping up at various retailers by the start of September 2014. I don’t feel like blowing gas driving around looking for Marvel Mashers figures, so I took the liberty of just buying the duo online.
Has the Marvel Super Hero Mashers bug bitten any of the rest of you yet, Marvel collectors? Will the Red Hulk and/or Deadpool Mashers figures be finding their way into your home this summer?
Red hulk? Deadpool?
Silver Centurion Iron Man and War Machine only. Thanks.
