If you got into collecting Marvel Funko POP Vinyls late, there are certain figures that you’re probably missing–not because you don’t want them, but because they’re now discontinued and astronomically expensive on the aftermarket. One of these figures is the Funko Tony Stark POP Vinyl, which was available as an exclusive release at San Diego Comic-Con and another convention in 2013. One month ago at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, Square-Enix gave fans their first glimpse at two new Marvel Play Arts Kai variant figures: the Black Widow we saw painted photos a few weeks ago, and an armored Captain America that painted images of were just revealed this week. Sideshow Collectibles has made it no secret that they were planning on making variants of their new-for-2016, gravity-defying Spider-Man Premium Format Figure. It had been quite a few years since Hasbro let fans have a direct say in a 6″ figure that gets produced in the Marvel Legends line, but last month, Hasbro broke their streak in grand fashion with a Marvel Legends Fan’s Choice Poll voting tournament which began at San Diego Comic-Con 2015! It was a real melee with fan-favorites like Cosmo, Lady Sif, The Hood and Quasar being eliminated early-on. In a span of less than one month, Hot Toys has revealed or put up for sale three of the four most fervently-demanded Marvel Cinematic Universe characters that previously had not been produced in the Movie Masterpiece Series: Maria Hill, Pepper Potts and Quicksilver.
