Though I’m still hot on the trail of the freshly released Hasbro Marvel Universe Wave 22 set with Mysterio and Rhino, Hasbro has now let out the details regarding the next set after that! It’s filled with fan-favorite secondary characters like Cloak & Dagger, Baron Zemo and the Abomination–and it’s scheduled for release in just one month! Coming in August 2013, it’s Marvel Universe Wave 23!

Hot Toys was cruising along at breakneck speed with announcements about the Iron Man 3 Hot Toys figures line–right up until the movie came out two months ago. Ever since, things have been eerily quiet in Iron Man 3 world (at least as far as Hot Toys is concerned). But fear not–the silence is at it’s end! Hot Toys has revealed a teaser photo for an Iron Man 3 Movie Masterpiece Series figure to debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 this week: it’s the Hot Toys Iron Man Heartbreaker Armor Mark 17 sixth scale figure!

I might have an obsession. See, once Marvel officially announced the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Funko Metallic Red Hulk POP! Vinyl figure, I became pretty fixated and seeing what they’d do to the most huggable of the Hulks. But the image Disney/Marvel sent out with the press release was just a photo of the plain Red Hulk. Thus, for the last week-plus I have been a man on a mission, with my quest being to find photographic evident of the actual Metallic Red Hulk SDCC Exclusive figure. And finally, today, my investigation turned up the first photo of the elusive POP! Vinyl Metallic Red Hulk!

Hallmark Ornament Premiere comes but twice a year (no, seriously, they have two), and this year’s event brought with it the release of two brand new 2013 Marvel Hallmark Ornaments! For fans of the Marvel movies, it’s an Iron Patriot ornament in honor of this year’s “Iron Man 3” movie! And for comic book and cartoon fans, there’s a classic Spider-Man ornament that plays a familiar jingle. I stopped by my local Hallmark to check out both!

Just when I thought we had seen every single one of the 2013 Marvel SDCC Exclusives, a few more sure-to-be-coveted figures have made themselves known! I also run a LEGO and Mega Bloks blog, so I always have my ear to the ground, listening for LEGO news and rumors. And today I heard a pretty loud rumble regarding two brand-new, previously unannounced LEGO Marvel SDCC Exclusive minifigures: a LEGO Spider-Woman Minifigure and a LEGO Spider-Man Minifigure (in movie costume!)

They said it couldn’t be done. And by “they” I mean “Diamond Select Toys”, and by “it” I mean more Marvel Zombies Minimates. Weeks ago in their latest Q&A Diamond reaffirmed they were no longer allowed to make Marvel Zombies figures. Either they lied or (more likely) something changed, as today an all-new and totally-unexpected item went up for pre-order: the Minimates Marvel Zombies Villains Box Set!

When Marvel relaunched the cosmic side of their universe with “Annihilation”, the only book that could be considered a hit was “Nova”. And when I say “Nova” was a “hit”, I mean it took three years for it to be cancelled–these days that’s practically an eternity for a secondary character like Nova to have a solo series! So Richard Rider Nova was killed off. But with the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie coming next year, Hasbro is excited about Marvel cosmic once again. Thus the icon of that wing of Marvel has arrived in figure form: it’s the Wave 21 Marvel Universe Nova action figure!

In an Online Comic Con already full of surprises, Sideshow Collectibles has managed to surprise me again with this newly-announced White Storm Premium Format Figure statue. UPDATE: You can get on the Wait List for the Sideshow Exclusive White Storm Premium Format Figure from the Sideshow website right now, as the figure was marked as “sold out” within an hour of going up for sale!

One thing that I absolutely love about Bowen Designs as opposed to a lot of other companies that make high-end Marvel products is that Bowen’s estimated release dates tend to be fairly accurate, and items usually go up for order within about six months (sometimes less) of a product’s release. Unfortunately, delays do happen, and some statues slip through the cracks. But though they’re running about half a year behind, the Bowen Designs Modular Iron Man and Beast statues are finally shipping out this month!

Bowen Designs has been making Marvel statues longer than any other company, and the result is that they’re now able to dive in and produce legions of secondary and even tertiary Marvel Comics characters to complete teams, rogues galleries and more. One of the most impressive roll-calls in the Bowen Marvel Statues line is the huge assortment of Spider-Man villains immortalized as statues. And Randy Bowen has recently shared a concept sketch of a proposed upcoming piece of a Marvel villain who’s never been done in this form before: it’s the Bowen Shocker Statue!

We’re not even 1/3 of the way through July, but Sideshow is going all-out for their Online Comic Con 2013. 2013 has been a tough year for collectors of the Hasbro Marvel Universe action figures line. Last year’s assortments with figures like Jubilee and Blastaar bled into this year and saturated stores, while some figures like 2012 Marvel Universe Nova have been near-impossible to find in stores. And all the while, the first Marvel Universe 2013 single-packed figures haven’t yet arrived. But what did arrive was the first assortment of 2013 Marvel Universe Team Packs including the Inhumans, West Coast Avengers and X-Men. And take heart if you haven’t bought them yet–they’re now on clearance!

When I posted my impressions of the Sideshow Black Widow Premium Format Figure teaser photo earlier in the week, I figured that the photos were an early indication she’d be up for sale this month. But, well–I wasn’t expecting her to hit the marketplace quite so soon!
The bad news is the Premium Format Black Widow is a bit more expensive than I’d hoped. The good news is that we’re getting our second Sideshow Marvel Premium Format Figure statue up for sale this week, and this time there’s even a Sideshow Exclusive Edition!

Earlier today on this 4th of July holiday, Hot Toys announced their 2013 Toy Fair Exclusive Captain America Star-Spangled Man Version sixth scale figure! Hot Toys isn’t the only high-end Marvel collectible manufacturer feeling patriotic, today, though! As part of their Online Comic Con 2013 celebration, Sideshow Collectibles announced their Iron Man 3 Iron Patriot Life-Size Bust today and revealed their first preview photo of the gorgeous piece!
