If there’s one thing that there hasn’t been a shortage of in the Marvel collecting world over the past several years, it’s Iron Man and War Machine action figures! I lost track long ago of just how many versions of those characters had been released by various toy companies in just the last half-decade, but they’ve reached a point of popularity where there’s always demand for new and exciting figures. And as their next release in the hyper-successful Amazing Yamaguchi series, the import Kaiyodo Revoltech War Machine Figure is now up for order!

But this year’s true main event for many X-Men fans is a figure that’s been hotly demanded for TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS. I had legit half given-up on ever completing the Animated/Jim Lee roster in 6” form, but a 90s X-Men Marvel Legends Jubilee figure finally went up for sale this year! After over two and a half decades of waiting, is this the definitive Jubilee action figure?
Continue Reading →As a mega-fan of 1990s Marvel Comics, I’ve been wanting a super-articulated action figure of Maximum Carnage fan-favorite Dopperlganger Spider ever since I was a pre-teen. While I was hyped when word leaked out he was in the works, I was mortified when I realized what his body mold choice was going to be. Now that the Marvel Legends Doppelganger Spider-Man is readily available online, I finally got up the courage to spend some time with him and render judgment in my review…
Continue Reading →We can virtually always count on Diamond Select Toys to present us with an eclectic mix of Marvel collectibles in each month’s solicitations, and this month’s are no exception. On the resin front, we’ve got three totally different resin items from three totally different styles and lines. The Diamond Select Toys Animated Black Panther Statue, 1:2 Scale Thanos Bust and Premier Collection Miles Morales are now up for order! Which are worth keeping an eye on (if any)…?
Continue Reading →X-Men Dark Phoenix ended up being a catastrophe at the box office, but by the time merchandisers knew that for absolute certain, there were already quite a few collectibles for the character in the pipeline. Luckily, even if the movie was a total dud, Dark Phoenix toys are almost always popular. Or at least, that’s what Kotobukiya is hoping, because the new Bishoujo Dark Phoenix Rebirth figure is now up for order—and it’s the most expensive Marvel Bishoujo ever made by a wide margin!
Continue Reading →I’ve always been a big fan of the bold white costume Magneto ever since we saw it debut in Brian Michael Bendis’ Uncanny X-Men during the Marvel NOW era. While I love my Kotobukiya ARTFX of this design and drool over the XM Studio statue daily, I’ve always wanted a Marvel Legends version. But in the absence of that, Mezco Toyz is filling the void: the Previews EXCLUSIVE ONE:12 Collective White Magneto figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →We don’t get anywhere near the number of Marvel Select figures as we do Marvel Legends each year, but Diamond Select Toys is on a mini-roll right now! Hot on the heels of the excellent Psylocke Select figure being released a couple weeks back, this year’s addition to the Spider-Man villains lineup is now arriving: Marvel Select Sandman is beginning to ship out for online orders and arrive in comic book stores! How’s he look? I checked him out thoroughly in-store today myself…
Continue Reading →It’s hard to believe it’s only been a few years since the return of X-Men Legends, but already we’ve seen a vast spectrum of Wolverine variants released including First Appearance, Brown Costume, Jim Lee, Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Days of Future Past, Cowboy and more! Luckily, Wolverine has made thousands of comic book appearances for Hasbro to draw on for inspiration, and they’ve come up with a crazy iteration for their newest figure: Marvel Legends Vintage X-Men Wolverine is one of the more obscure versions ever put up for sale–but to my great surprise, I might be in love with this variant I never asked for…
Continue Reading →One of the dumbest things I ever did as a Funko POP Vinyls collector was sell a bunch of my rare and limited figures for peanuts in 2014 when I wrongly thought the Funko bubble was due to burst. It’s half a decade later and POPs are as hot as ever so clearly I was wrong. One vinyl I foolishly sold for 20 bucks was the ECCC 2013 green Phoenix exclusive, which I’ve never had the willpower to rebuy for hundreds of dollars. But now, I won’t have to: a Funko POP Glow-in-the-Dark Green Phoenix exclusive figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →We’re now approaching a full two years to the day when Sideshow Collectibles unveiled the three initial statues in their Mark Brooks Spider-Man statue line at New York Comic Con 2017. After nearly two years with no new additions to that trio, it would stand to reason that the series was dead, right…? Wrong! Blindsiding basically everybody, Sideshow surprise-teaser another entry last week, and now it’s officially on the way: the Sideshow Exclusive Mark Brooks Black Cat Statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →The consequence of getting an explosive number of Marvel Legends reveals at the major conventions each year is that we tend to fall into news droughts between shows. And so, with a month to go until NYCC 2019, there’s not much fresh news to talk about—but there’s still plenty of new figures to review! Marvel Legends Silver Samurai from the X-Men Vintage Series is readily available online despite being a top request of collectors for years—but is any part of that the figure’s fault…?
Continue Reading →Even though Hasbro has released quite a few super-articulated figures of Cyclops over the past few years (with costumes spanning the Silver Age to Jim Lee to Marvel NOW), there’s always a big demand for versions of the most iconic leader of the X-Men. So I was rather surprised today to see that the Vintage X-Men Legends Cyclops figure is both readily available and discounted to 15 bucks shipped online. Deciding this warranted investigation, I chose this Marvel Legends Cyclops as the subject of today’s review…
Continue Reading →Spider-Man collectors had a legit reason to fear we’d only be getting MCU Spidey variants from Hot Toys this year as part of the Spider-Man Far From Home MMS Series. For a variety of reasons, Lizard got no 1/6 figure; Rhino got no 1/6 figure; Vulture got no 1/6 figure. But tragedy (okay, maybe not tragedy in Rhino’s case) shan’t repeat itself again, and FFH Spidey won’t have to go enemy-less: the Hot Toys Mysterio figure is now up for order! We had to wait a long time for this announcement and it’ll be longer still for him to arrive—will this 1:6 Mysterio be worth it?
Continue Reading →Ready or not, here New York Comic Con 2019 comes! We’re under one month out from NYCC 2019 now, and while it’s unclear exactly how full of new announcements and products this year’s show will be (and we likely won’t know until the event actually begins), we at least now know a handful of the NYCC 2019 Exclusives: Funko POP Stan Lee in Spacesuit, Captain Mar-Vell, Classic Nick Fury & Ms. Marvel and more!
Continue Reading →As unlikely as it may be, the final member of the Jim Lee X-Men Marvel Legends figures lineup that Hasbro needed to create wasn’t one of the more obscure characters like Jubilee or Bishop—it was actually among the most popular and iconic: Storm! But at long last, the Vintage X-Men Marvel Legends Storm figure is shipping out from online retailers and quickly selling out on store shelves—but is this the definitive Ororo Monroe for the ages we’ve all been waiting for?
