Given the massive success of the all-out insane number of Iron Man toys released in the last decade, I’ve come to the conclusion that pretty much every Iron Man armor permutation that’s ever existed is “on the table” as far as potential new figures that we could see from any company at any time. But if there’s one armor I legit never thought we’d see revisited by anyone again, it’s the Sapien Deathmatch armor. Clearly Sentinel thought otherwise, though, because the Re:EDIT House of M Iron Man figure is now up for order!

Way back in February, when Hasbro started teasing the Marvel Legends Spider-Man Homecoming figures series, one of the very first items that we got to see was the new Marvel Legends Homecoming Iron Man Mark 47 figure. I saw Iron Man Mark XLVII and his two-pack partner (Tom Holland Head Unmasked) Spider-Man at Toy Fair, but that’s the last that we saw the duo… until today! You don’t say!” But seriously, due to the complex licensing between Sony and Disney for Spider-Man, the Spider-Man Homecoming Iron Man Mark 47 armor permutation is the first armor in a long, long time I wasn’t sure if we’d get a fully-articulated die-cast version of. At this point, we can feel pretty confident that every new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that comes out will be accompanied by at least one Marvel Select action figure, as every single MCU movie since Avengers–except the first Guardians of the Galaxy–has. As such, it was more a question of “when” than “if” we’d see Thor Ragnarok figures announced. But the inevitable has occurred, and we can all start getting pumped up now–the Marvel Select Ragnarok Thor & Gladiator Hulk figures are now up for order!

At the time, while Hot Toys announced that an unmasked Peter Parker Tom Holland portrait would be included, the sculpt was still unapproved and blurred out at the time. If one announcement at New York Toy Fair 2017 made me do a double-take of disbelief, it was when Hasbro flashed the Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite logo at their press event. Toybiz did MvC figures way back when, but it’s a phenomenon I thought we’d never see again. Hasbro thought otherwise, and as the first (perhaps only?) entry in the line, they premiered a Target Exclusive Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Iron Man vs. Mega Man X set at E3 this week!
