With under a month to go until the biggest comic convention of 2015 (that isn’t New York Comic Con 2015), the Marvel exclusives are finally being revealed fast and furiously! I don’t think anyone really believed that there would only be one SDCC 2015 exclusive Funko Marvel POP Vinyl, and sure enough, there are more! But the one Funko has now announced is one I probably should have been expecting, but was not: the SDCC Funko X-Force Deadpool Chimichanga Truck POP Rides set!
But for whatever reason, even though I’ve been brainstorming this year’s Marvel POP exclusives for a while, I was blind to one that should have been obvious: the just-announced SDCC 2015 Funko X-Force Deadpool Chimichanga Truck.
Because the standard version of Deadpool’s Chimichanga Truck is the first-ever Marvel POP! Rides set released, I forgot that there was a possibility of this set getting an exclusive variant repaint for the show. It wasn’t even on my radar. But it sure was on Funko’s radar, and it’s launching at the San Diego Comic Con convention in under one month!
The X-Force variant of the Chimichanga Truck will share the number designation of “#10” in the POP! Rides series, so those who don’t want the variant won’t have to have their complete set of numbers interrupted by the release.
When I first saw this exclusive revealed by Funko, I legitimately thought (and still do think) it was a pretty lame San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive. But, to my surprise, the overall reaction to this repaint has been very positive, so it looks like Funko may have yet another hot-selling con exclusive on their hands.
It’s worth noting that while an X-Force Deadpool Funko POP! Vinyls figure has been released previously, this is a different version from the Hot Topic exclusive, as this is a repaint of the chimichanga-eating Deadpool vinyl figure that’s only otherwise available in red as part of the regular release of this set.
While sometimes Funko produces exclusives for Comic-Con limited 480 (and less!), this will (thankfully) not be one of those times. The exclusive sticker on the X-Force Chimichanga Truck just says “Limited Edition” with no hard number applied, so there will be over 1000 pieces produced, which should (theoretically) be plenty of this Deadpool SDCC 2015 exclusive to go around. Theoretically.
What do you think of the latest 2015 SDCC Exclusive Funko toy to be revealed, Marvel collectors? Are you amped about an X-Force Deadpool Chimichanga Truck, or are you satisfied with your cheaper and far easier to obtain regular version of this POP! Ride?
I am good…
Weak.
How much do you think it’ll cost
