If there’s one company that knows how to keep collectors coming back each day of San Diego Comic-Con 2017, it’s Hasbro! Even though the Hasbro Marvel panel won’t be until Saturday evening, Hasbro has been strategically adding new items to the display in their booth each day of SDCC 2017. And the Friday of SDCC 2017 has brought us a trio of new treats: a Marvel Legends 12″ Wolverine, a Marvel Legends Vintage Punisher 6″ figure, and even a crazy symbiote head for Venom Deadpool!
Today’s “big” reveal also happens to be the largest Marvel figure that they’ve dropped the curtain on so far at the event: a new Marvel Legends 12″ Wolverine figure in his Jim Lee costume!
Not only are the sculpting, paint deco and proportions on this ML Jim Lee Wolverine 12″ figure beautiful, but it even comes with three heads (unmasked Logan, scowling Wolverine and yelling Wolverine) and a removed Wolverine mask!
This is theΒ most iconic costume for Logan because of its usage in the 90’s X-Men animated series, so 6″ Marvel Legends collectors are already demanding a new 6″ version of this figure. Hang tight, 6″ fans–I suspect we’ll be seeing a smaller version of this same figure sooner than later.
But speaking of the standard 6″ Legends–Friday also brought along the reveal of the third figure in the 2018 Marvel Legends Vintage series: The Punisher!
While we just saw the Walgreens Punisher released last year with a white bandana, next year he’ll be sporting a red bandana (“Malibu Stacy has a new hat!”) and coming with a “combat weapon” bazooka.
The other two figures confirmed for the Vintage Marvel Legends series are Spider-Man and Captain America, with the remaining three figures expected to be revealed at the Hasbro Marvel Toys panel Saturday night.
Finally, Hasbro showed off an unexpected extra for the Marvel Legends Symbiote Deadpool figure that debuted on Preview Night! This head looks totally vicious and evil, and is easily the scariest Deadpool head that we’ve ever seen on an action figure.
I’ll be continuing SDCC 2017 coverage all weekend long, including the big Marvel Hasbro panel on Saturday night, so keep checking the site and our social media for updates all weekend. Big thanks to @kaijubloks on Instagram for sending in his photos for us to share here on Marvel Toy News!
How do you like the newest member of the 12″ Marvel Legends family: Wolverine? Those of you who haven’t purchased any of the Marvel Legends 12″ figures yet, will Jim Lee Wolverine be your first? And what are your thoughts on the Toybiz-inspired Marvel Legends vintage figures that have been revealed thus far?
I’m sure there will be a lot of people happy to get their hands on pizza spidey but I’m really not too excited to buy these re-releases. Also, can we get that 12″ wolverine in a 6″ scale please?
The 6″ blue version of that Wolverine is just 1000% inevitable now that they’re doing a 12″ version.
Okay that’s nice. Where’s my 12″ Storm?
She’s probably hanging out with 12″ Dazzler and 12″ Squirrel Girl. π
She’s just invisible. Oh! You meant Storm Storm. I thought you meant Sue Storm. Silly me.
Wolverine is missing 2 stripes on his lower torso
He’s also missing his Gillette. Because he’s got a serious 5 o’ clock shadow.
Wow, Wolvie might really be my first entry into the 12″ world. Looks great!
I am also really happy about this “Vintage” Legends line. Personally, I would much prefer cardbacks with cool art over the boring boxes that we currently get across the line.
I’m glad that people will have a second chance at Pizza Spidey. No real reason for me to repurchase the three figures that have been shown off so far, but it’s good news that Hasbro is making these figures again.
Need modern Punisher!!!!!
I had zero interest in this scale but between this and Panther, I’m about to be broke.
When is the 12 inch Wolverine scheduled to be released?
2018.
Since the Marvel Legends 12″ series are… well, 12 inches, and the Hulk in that series is reportedly 14.5 inches, then Wolverine should really be about 9 to 10 inches tops. An actual 12″ tall Wolverine just wouldn’t look right standing next to Captain America and Thor in the same line.
