Following his surprisingly decent-sized role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2015 has turned out to be a far bigger year for War Machine figures than I ever imagined! New figures are coming this year from Marvel Legends, Hot Toys, SH Figuarts, Minimates, Sideshow Collectibles and more. And now, we can add perhaps the most unique entry of all to that list: the unique Sentinel RE:EDIT War Machine figure is now up for order!
These 7″ Iron Man figures feature redesigned artist interpretations of some of the most popular Iron Man armors. The first two $140-$200 figures–Bleeding Edge Iron Man and Extremist Iron Man–came out earlier this year and have been met with a lot of praise and positive feedback.
Sentinel hopes to keep that trend of positivity going with Iron Man RE:EDIT #04: War Machine! Sculpted by artist Chemical Attack, this is a way bulkier and more powerful-looking War Machine than the sleek iterations that we’re used to seeing in comics and movies.
Just like you’d expect from a guy with the name “War Machine”, this War Machine Sentinel figure is loaded with armaments. He’s got dual-missile launchers for each arm, along with dual pulse cannons, a shoulder cannon, a pair of missile pods and a massive shoulder-mounted missile. Clearly, this is not the Iron Man armor you wanna mess with.
In addition to the ludicrous number of weapons this figure comes with, it’ll also include five pairs of interchangeable hands and eerily-haunting red LEDs light in the eyes and chest reactor.
The War Machine RE:EDIT action figure will also include a Hall of Armor display stand with flight pole for getting James Rhodes into a variety of dynamic, flying poses.
While the other RE:EDIT Iron Man figures Sentinel has released thus far have been almost exactly 7″ tall, War Machine will stand a mite bigger at 7.2″ tall. He’ll also have a higher price-point to match, as he’ll retail for around $20 more than his fellow armors.
I’m intrigued by this figure and the Sentinel Iron Man RE:EDIT line in general, but with prices like that, I’m going to have to pass on this otherwise super-cool War Machine action figure.
The Sentinel War Machine RE:EDIT figure is now available for order, and is expected to be released in October 2015. Sentinel does not have a license to distribute these figures in the United States, so they can only be purchased from an import store such as BigBadToyStore.
Are you impressed by the heavy-artillery RE:EDIT War Machine figure, Marvel collectors? Are you willing to shell out around $200 for this figure, or does it cost just too much for a figure in the 7″ scale?
Two hundred, WTF!
Ditto, wtf for a 7″?
Way too expensive. But happy War Machine has gotten so much merchandise.
$166 right now from Hobby Link Japan…
