The vastly under-appreciated Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is my favorite non-animated TV series in many years, and I am absolutely starved for merch for the show. Despite tying in with the latest Marvel movies and having a high-profile primetime television spot, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. toys are non-existent. So when the Funko Agent Coulson POP Vinyls figure went up for order on Entertainment Earth, I instantly knew he would be mine. Now that the Agents of SHIELD Agent Coulson Funko POP! I’d honestly had my doubts about the Kotobukiya Marvel NOW! Avengers ArtFX+ statues line, but whatever skepticism I had was washed away by the highly-impressive Kotobukiya Hulk ArtFX+ statue that I reviewed earlier this week.

I’m on a veritable high at the moment when it comes to these Kotobukiya Avengers statues, and that’s why this was the perfect time for Kotobukiya to debut the official photos of the fifth statue in the series: the Kotobukiya Thor ArtFX+ statue is now up for pre-order!

At last month’s New York Toy Fair 2014, Hasbro made a ton of upcoming products official that many collectors already knew to be in the pipeline from leaked retailer lists, including the Marvel Infinite Series 2 lineup of action figures! While we already knew they were coming before the 2014 Toy Fair, we got to see them for the first time last month.

Though it was first released in early 2013 to mixed reviews and took quite a while to sell through, the Avengers Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII figure will be reissued and flying back to stores in summer 2014! I do my best to plan my collecting budget for the year around the estimated release dates that Hot Toys gives us for their various Marvel 1/6 figures, as those tend to be the most expensive figures I buy each year. Considering the Iron Man Mark VII armor is featured in the most popular and top-grossing superhero movie of all-time (The Avengers), you’d think our shelves would be overflowing with a ton of great scaled 6″ Marvel Legends Iron Man Mark VII figures. Instead, we have zero. For whatever reason, Hasbro has never prioritized making a Mark VII Iron Man Marvel Legends-scaled figure, leaving a gaping hole in many collectors’ lineups. Well that was fast, now wasn’t it? Over the weekend the first painted prototype images of the Figma Avengers Thor 6″ Figure surfaced from a Japanese magazine. Good Smile Company (the distributor of Figma figures) has now released hi-res images of the 6″ Figma Thor action figure, and pre-orders for the Figma Thor are now available!

But while this is one mighty fine-looking Avengers Thor movie action figure, the price he comes at is mighty high…
