Kotobukiya has dramatically slowed down their output of Marvel collectibles over the last year and change, and news on their Marvel ARTFX Premier and Bishoujo lines has trickled to almost nothing. But an area where Koto is still going strong carrying the mighty Marvel banner is their 1/6 Marvel Fine Art statue line, with several big-name characters arriving over the next half-year. And this week, they’ve added another to the list: the Kotobukiya Iron Man Fine Art statue is now available for pre-order! How does this Iron Man look as a standalone statue, and also with the Thor and Captain America companion pieces?

For decades, the Red Skull was an off-limits character that toy companies would not touch with a 200 foot pole because of fears of controversy due to the character’s political origins. But those days are 2+ decades behind us now, and Red Skull is a bonafide movie star in the MCU with quite a few figures to his name. But somehow, one figure we’ve never gotten is a definitive version of the character in his most iconic classic look—at least, maybe not until now! The Xemnu Series Super Villains Marvel Legends Red Skull figure has arrived—has Hasbro created the perfect classic Red Skull action figure?
Continue Reading →At this point, there aren’t that many major MCU heroes that haven’t had their own Hasbro Marvel Legends movie figure yet. But of the characters remaining, there’s little doubt that the most requested has long been Pietro Maximoff from Avengers Age of Ultron. After years of fans demanding him, the wait is finally at an end this year, though: the Hasbro Marvel Legends Quicksilver Infinity Saga figure is now up for order! Does this figure live up to the hype after years of collector outcry?

While leaks spoiled some of the surprise of the 2021 Marvel Legends Iron Man series, it’s still one of the most eclectic waves around–and with one of the most unexpected Build-A-Figures in Ursa Major! The Iron Man Legends Ursa Major BAF series is now up for order: which figures are on your “must-buy” list?

Hasbro has been teasing us with a 2021 Marvel Legends series filled with villains ever since the second half of 2020, and today they have finally put all their cards on the table and fully-revealed the wave! Teased as a “Bring on the Bad Guys” series, the official name for the wave is apparently “Marvel Legends Super Villains” (probably a more logical name!) and is now up for order! And the Build-A-Figure is one I don’t think many saw coming: the classic Marvel horror monster, Xemnu!

While the big hype coming out of today’s final Marvel Fan First Friday of 2020 is unquestionably pre-orders opening up for the 2021 Marvel Legends X-Men House of X Series, that doesn’t mean Hasbro didn’t have plenty of other goodness to show off during the stream! In addition to the the full reveal and pre-orders opening up for the amazing new Marvel Legends MODOK figure and an Exclusive Dusty Deadpool movie figure, we also got news on a new classic Ultron, Cannonball (with legs!!), Fallen One Silver Surfer with Mjolnir and more!

During Hasbro PulseCon 2020 today, a variety of new collectibles were revealed–including the never-before-seen Marvel Legends Avengers GamerVerse Wave 2 Mister Fixit series that went up for order today, including Falcon, Jocasta, Kang and more!

Although I wasn’t exactly giddy regarding the lineup of the 2020 Marvel Legends Avengers GamerVerse figures series, four of the six figures with Abomination Build-A-Figure parts were comics-based and thus must-buys for me, so I decided to go for broke and ended up buying GamerVerse Iron Man and Ms. Marvel to complete the Build-A-Figure. The Marvel Legends GamerVerse Abomination BAF is selling for 60 bucks by his lonesome on eBay—but is he worth building or buying outright at all?
Continue Reading →We are almost at the halfway point of 2020, and up until now, Sideshow Collectibles has only launched pre-orders on a single 1/4 Marvel Premium Format Figure statue this entire year (a new version of Deadpool). But that changed this week, when a long-teased character was finally solicited. And this isn’t a redo either—it’s an all-new character for Sideshow (and a villain at that!): the Sideshow Exclusive Taskmaster Premium Format Figure went up for sale this week! Is this classic comics-based baddie worth buying for big bucks…?
Continue Reading →Like many lines of Marvel collectibles, it’s been a slow start to 2020 for the long-running Marvel Select range of 7″ action figures. The only new figure shown in the first months of the year was a Black Widow movie Taskmaster Select in the spring. But in a surprise move this week, the second new release of the year was also revealed–and it’s also Taskmaster (this time, comic book-styled)! The Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select Taskmaster is now up for order–but he’s carrying the highest price-point ever in the line! Let’s take a look…
Continue Reading →When it comes to action figures, army-builders are pretty much the gift that keeps on giving to toy companies. After all, rather than producing one unique character that most collectors will purchase a singular time, an army-builder will often be purchased multiple times with no more development expenses than a unique character. That’s why companies have seized on a special opportunity brought about by Avengers Endgame. And now, Bandai is getting in on that action—the Bandai SH Figuarts Avengers Endgame “Cap vs Cap” Captain America is now up for order in the US!
Continue Reading →The last month and a half have been some of the slowest for Marvel toy news and releases that I can remember in the last decade—but while the pandemic is still going strong, companies have finally started rolling out some new items for pre-order over the course of the last week! I’ll be catching up on discussing those this weekend, and I wanted to start with a figure I wasn’t sure would ever get released at all! While it’s a limited and expensive exclusive overseas, the SH Figuarts Loki figure is now up for order in the US for a decent price as well!
Continue Reading →At San Diego Comic Con 2019, Hasbro announced a character for release in the Marvel Legends lineup that many fans legit believed would never be done. But after years of requests and dozens of issues of her solo comic book series, a 6” Squirrel Girl action figure finally became a reality! And after a half year of waiting, the Marvel Legends Squirrel Girl figure is finally shipping out from retailers… boxed with a scooter that hasn’t exactly been met with a warm response. How is this box set as a whole, and is it worth its price tag? Here’s my review…

Along with the ARTFX Premier Scarlet Witch statue that’s now up for order, they also displayed the ARTFX Premier Captain Marvel and the concept art for the new version of a Black Cat Bishoujo PVC statue!

So all in one shot, let’s check out the upcoming Marvel Minimates, including the Series 80 Spy-related characters, Series 81 Dark Phoenix figures wave, and the Walgreens exclusive Minimates for the Black Widow movie!
