From Marvel Select Unmasked Spider-Man to War Machine repainted into Marvel Select Iron Patriot, Disney Store and MarvelStore.com has become the de facto home for minor Marvel Select exclusives. And we can add one more character to the list, as today DST officially announced the Marvel Select Unmasked Captain America figure from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”!

While Diamond Select Toys gave press and buyers at the 2014 New York Toy Fair the first look at this summer’s Marvel Minimates Guardians of the Galaxy figures, photography of the Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates (like most GOTG merch) was not allowed at the event. Collectors have had to be content with word-of-mouth textual descriptions of the wave–until now! Diamond Select has now pulled back the curtain, and the complete Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates series is now available for order!

No, the top pick for Marvel figure of the year for last year was by Diamond Select Toys–the Marvel Select Venom figure. Released in February 2013, the Marvel Select Venom action figure followed in the footsteps of his symbiote predecessors by quickly selling out and exploding in value. Sometimes Diamond Select Toys is very successful at keeping a secret, and sometimes they’re foiled by their own packaging materials! Though the Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select Superior Spider-Man figure was meant to be kept top-secret until Disney was ready to announce it, a photo of the figure was in the pamphlet that came with the most recent Marvel Select action figures. But even though the surprise was ruined, I’m still enthusiastic about this figure. The Marvel Select Superior Spider-Man figure is now officially announced and available for order!

Diamond Select Toys confirmed last week that an Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select Figure was on the way, and this week they’ve released their first photos of the upcoming Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 action figure!

I griped an awful lot last month when Diamond Select Toys announced that they were reissued the Marvel Select Spider-Woman figure. I complained that it didn’t make sense to re-release the Jessica Drew Spider-Woman Marvel Select action figure (as that figure typically sells below its original cost on the aftermarket), when they should have reissued the more valuable Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman II Marvel Select figure. Well, it seems I was just a bit hasty, as the Marvel Select Arachne variant action figure is heading back to stores in 2014!
