Hasbro has gotten Marvel Legends collectors pretty well-trained at this point to expect new reveals and announcements from their scheduled Hasbro Pulse Marvel Fan First livestreams. So of course, now that they’ve got us all conditioned, they go and throw us a major curveball with a surprise Instagram Live session instead, revealing numerous new long-awaited Marvel action figures: Marvel Legends Firelord, Retro War Machine, Japanese Spider-Man, Disney+ Sharon Carter and more are now up for order!

ew York Toy Fair 2022 is officially canceled—which totally sucks since we’ll miss out on seeing hundreds of collectible reveals in one weekend for the second consecutive year. But it’s a guilty blessing for me, since I won’t have to force myself to run up and down the Javits Center, mostly blind, while I’m still recovering from my strokes. Even with limited vision, though, I still would have liked to have seen their newly-solicited Marvel goods from Diamond Select Toys up-close—including the new Marvel Minimates Fantastic Four figures box set and Legends in 3D The Thing 1:2 scale bust!

2021 has been a notably slow year for Marvel Select figure collectors, with just a handful of new Diamond Select Toys Marvel figure releases hitting shelves and even fewer new figures being solicited for specialty retailers. We’re coming down to the wire in the Marvel Legends Galactus HasLab campaign–and defying the mid-month trends, the project has now been fully-funded with time to spare! The clock is ticking down on the Marvel Legends Galactus HasLab project, and since last week’s reveal of an exclusive Frankie Raye Nova unlockable didn’t do much to move the needle (at all), no time like the present to announce more releases to support backing the World Devourer! And so, that made yesterday the perfect time for Hasbro to officially reveal some figures we basically all knew were on the way anyway: the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Retro series is now up for order! And while we’ve had the FF a few times in the last couple years, this wave brings us some stuff we’ve never seen before—like Psycho Man and the High Evolutionary!

With less than 28 days to go in the HasLab Marvel Legends Galactus campaign, the project is currently sitting at 10,404 backers–about 74.3% of the 14,000 minimum–met. In isolation, that’s a fantastically (pardon the pun) encouraging number for the World Devourer. But when you take into consideration that the vast majority of those sales are from the first day and most days since have had less than 100 backers, those numbers are a little worrisome. And that may be why, even though Galactus himself hasn’t been backed yet, Hasbro decided to drop the curtain and reveal the first stretch goal yesterday: the first-ever Marvel Legends Frankie Raye Nova figure!

Last summer, Hasbro lit the Marvel collecting world ablaze with the runaway success of the Marvel Legends Sentinel HasLab figure, a project which obliterated all its stretch goals and netted an amazing 21,000+ backers. So it’s no surprise that Hasbro is back at it again this year with what’s beyond a doubt the most popular other hugely oversized character they could make: the 32” tall Marvel Legends HasLab Galactus figure has now been fully revealed, and the campaign is on to get 14,000+ backers and make this project a reality!
