X-Men ‘97 is a smash hit, and Hasbro’s excellent tie-in toy line is enjoying massive success as well. As such, I’m continuing along with my series of 6” Marvel legends X-Men 97 figures with a key member of the team. We’ve had several previous Hasbro action figures of her in 90s Jim Lee costume, but is the new X-Men 97 Legends Jean Grey figure the definitive version of the character?

The third time may be the charm for a lot of Marvel collectors, as the always-in-demand comic-based Marvel Legends Kingpin figure is now up for order and making his third Hasbro appearance in the last decade. The 2018 Kingpin Build-A-Figure was a hot commodity, and even the 2021 Spider-Man Retro Series version skyrocketed to sell for over twice its retail MSRP. But now new collectors and those who missed out get a fresh chance with the first-ever Marvel Legends Retro figure re-release! Who else would you like to see reissued, Marvel collectors?
Continue Reading →Way back in my 2017 review, I thought the X-Men Legends Cyclops figure in the Warlock Series was acceptable, despite its flaws, because we were in the middle of a Jim Lee Cyclops famine. In 2024, not so much. We’ve seen numerous representations of Cyke in this costume in the interim, but as far as Hasbro 6” figures go, the newly-released X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Cyclops easily takes the crown as the best Jim Lee Cyclops figure ever made…

With all that success with fans, it comes as no surprise that now Hasbro has opened orders for a full Marvel Legends Iron Man Retro Series, including She-Hulk, Count Nefaria, gold Original Iron Man and more!

And so, following up on SHIELD army builder figures available over the past decade, Hasbro has now got a pack of the most legendary trio (or quartet) of SHIELD agents: the Marvel Legends SHIELD 3-Pack is now up for order, featuring Dum Dum Dugan, Sharon Carter, and both versions of Nick Fury!

And now, Hasbro is dipping back in to give us the other half of the team in their fun black and blue costumes! Continuing the line of Wolverine 50th Anniversary 6” figures, the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Wolverine and Spider-Man 2-pack is now up for order! Are these quirky-costumed Spidey and Logan figures on your shopping list?

After fans’ hopes were dashed by the failed Ghost Rider Haslab, Cyclops’ first wife is finally here: the X-Men 97 Wave 2 Marvel Legends Goblin Queen Madelyne Pryor figure is now starting to arrive!
Continue Reading →It may be tough to believe, but Hasbro is about to release their third 6” Marvel Legends Arnim Zola action figure this year, alongside their fourth Baron Zemo. That said, fandom still has a healthy appetite for both of these nefarious nazis, and their latest releases do look quite nice for those who need them: the Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Zemo & Arnim Zola 2-Pack is now up for order!

Hasbro delivered such a figure with Crystar earlier this year, and (spoilers for the rest of this review) they do so again with this terrific X-Men 97 Marvel Legends X-Cutioner figure that’s shipping out this month as part of wave 2 of the line. Here’s my review…

This Dark Sentry has only physically appeared a few times in Marvel comic books, but is easily one of the most powerful and deadly villainous entities in the Marvel Universe. As Hasbro released an updated Sentry in 2022, the timing seemed right to finally create this monstrous force. Due to its massive size and bulk, fans will have to buy six figures in the Marvel Legends Void Build-A-Figure Series to complete the fiendish foe—is it worth dropping that much for the ML Void BAF?

I never expected to see that version of the character in toy form again, but 27 years later, Hasbro brought Spider-Man TAS MJ back to life in Marvel Legends form, as part of a 2-Pack with Animated Green Goblin! Was this exclusive VHS 2-pack of Spidey icons worth picking up while you still can?
Continue Reading →Sam Wilson became Captain America way back in 2014, and Hasbro released their first Marvel Legends Sam Wilson Captain America figure soon after in a 2016 3-pack with Vision and Kate Bishop Hawkeye. That “Captain Falcon” figure was wholly inadequate because, well… it didn’t have any wings. 8 years later, Hasbro is making good on past potential by launching a comics-based Target Exclusive Symbol of Truth Captain America Sam Wilson action figure today! Is this the Falcon Cap that Sam’s fans have been waiting for?

Luckily, I was able to quickly get a Marvel Legends Power Princess from Entertainment Earth to review and also to finish my Void Build-A-Figure. Many fans are purchasing this figure as a stand-in for Wonder Woman—a role Zarda here excels at. She’s not Princess Diana in name, but is this Squadron Supreme-completing team member still the best 6” Wonder Woman figure ever?
Continue Reading →Marvel Legends 2024 has been unusually light on Build-A-Figure waves thus far this year, but Hasbro is remedying that in a surprising way with a wholly unexpected mixed wave of 6” figures announced via Hasbro Pulse livestream yesterday: the highly eclectic Marvel Legends Zabu Build-A-Figure series featuring 90s Cable, Wolfsbane, Ka-Zar, Ikaris and more is now up for order!

Rather than being a pack-in Build-A-Figure as many fans dreamed, the Marvel Legends Doctor Octopus movie figure is a $38 deluxe standalone release. Is this unique-sculpted Spidey villain worth a pair of Andrew Jacksons and a spot on your shelf? Here’s my review…
