When the first Avengers movie came out, the franchise hadn’t yet proven itself as a record-shattering sales-juggernaut, so many toy manufacturers didn’t give the Avengers the time of day back in 2012. But this year–this year–everybody wants a piece of the Avengers Age of Ultron pie. And that means we are going to get all kinds of wacky, crazy merchandise–my favorite kind of merch. Case in point? This Hot Wheels Avengers Tower Takeover Set, in which, uhhh… well, Iron Man in sports car form tries to drive around a mammoth Ultron and make him explode!

When it comes to high-end Iron Man figures, Hot Toys is the undisputed king. But not every collector has the space (or money) to collect an armada of $250+ sixth scale Iron Man figures. For those who prefer smaller and cheaper masterpieces, however, there’s another option for import Iron Man action figures: SH Figuarts. The downside is that it usually takes at least a year and a half for Bandai to release a new Iron Man armor after it appears in a movie. But this time–this time–Bandai is beating even the movie to the punch: the SH Figuarts Iron Man Mark 43 is now up for order!

Against all odds and expectations, Hot Toys announced earlier this week that they would be debuting the insanely-anticipated Hot Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man and Thanos figures at the Hong Kong Toy Soul 2014 event this week.

We had to wait a couple hours for the event to officially begin before they were put on display, but Hot Toys was true to their word: the Hot Toys Thanos and Hulkbuster Iron Man sixth scale figures are in the house!

Given that Hot Toys already put two Iron Man sixth scale figures up for order last week and another this week (for a grand total of over $900 in pre-orders), it seems reasonable to think that Hot Toys might be done with old Tony Stark for a couple weeks. But that kind of logical thought process leads to fallacy, and Hot Toys knows no limits when it comes to milking Tony Stark! Hot Toys has managed to take us totally off-guard with many surprise announcements over the course of this year. But their latest product reveal has been, well… not exactly a closely-guarded secret. Starting at San Diego Comic Con 2014 and continuing throughout the summer and fall, Hot Toys has been “sneakily” leaving an Iron Man 3 Hot Rod Iron Man Hot Toys figure in the display cases at most of the events that they’ve exhibited at. Kaiyodo has released some real gems in their Revoltech figures line over the years, but with many of their best products having been sold out for long periods of time, the prices of these figures have often gotten out of control on the aftermarket.
