But we’re just over two weeks away from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie release date of May 2, 2014, and Hot Toys has deigned that it’s time to get things started!

The past several weeks have been some of the most monetarily brutal and unrelenting that I can remember as a Marvel collector, as we’ve been absolutely bombarded with new releases from low-end companies and expensive pre-orders from high-end companies for statues and sixth scale figures. I do my best to plan my collecting budget for the year around the estimated release dates that Hot Toys gives us for their various Marvel 1/6 figures, as those tend to be the most expensive figures I buy each year.
