Earlier today, Hasbro officially announced the return of Hasbro PulseCon for 2021! As Hasbro PulseCon is a virtual convention focused on bringing fans online exclusive figures and web-based panels, it seemed like a no-brainer that we’d be seeing an exclusive Marvel Legends figure (or figures) announced sooner than later. But Hasbro really wasted no time, as just a couple hours after announcing the con itself, the Hasbro PulseCon 2021 Exclusive Marvel Legends Venom Retro Series figure has now been revealed!

It’s been nearly a half-decade since Hasbro released their SDCC 2016 Exclusive Sandman (Sand Form) figure and the subsequent Build-A-Figure version, and while both of those were pretty fantastic action figures, they are becoming quite expensive and difficult to hunt down on the aftermarket at this point. But a supervillain as cool and prominent as William Baker will not be denied a spot in newer collectors’ homes: a new Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Sandman figure is now up for order! Is this 2021 Sandman a worthy addition to the collections of new and old fans alike?

And so, it wasn’t a completely stunning development today when a GameStop Exclusive Marvel Legends Miles Morales Camouflage figure went up for order. But what did turn out to be pretty unexpected was that this isn’t a repaint at all–it’s an all-new, never-before-seen GamerVerse Miles Morales figure mold! Presumably we’ll get a regular painted iteration of this Miles Morales Spider-Man down the road, but for now, let’s have a look at the pretty clear blue version!

And as unlikely as it seems, Hasbro chose to celebrate this pair of holidays with a pair of very unexpected pre-orders: Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends Web-Man and a reissue of 80th Anniversary Deadpool are now up for order! These standalone releases won’t be for every fan (for different reasons), but some are gonna love them…
Continue Reading →Over the years, Hasbro has released many of the biggest and baddest villains in the Marvel Universe as Build-A-Figures. From Thanos and Rhino to Sauron and Apocalypse, we’ve gotten iconic villain after villain in BAF form. And now… we have a Marvel Legends Stilt-Man Build-A-Figure that can be assembled by buying the first Marvel Legends 2021 Spider-Man Series. I never expected we’d see a toy of this character beyond a Minimates figure, but here he is. This is likely to be the only 6” Stilt-Man action figure ever made. Is it a great one?
Continue Reading →Having already covered my favorite character (the anthropomorphic amphibian one) in the 2021 Marvel Legends Into the Spider-Verse Stilt-Man Series, let’s move on now to the character in the wave that I was least excited about. After getting a classic comics-based Prowler Legends figure in Lizard Build-A-Figure Series in 2018, I wasn’t really sure I needed an Uncle Aaron Prowler Version from the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse animated film. Now that he’s arrived from Amazon, have I changed my mind?

I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?

I had hope in my heart that I could review the Fabulous Frog-Man as my first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 review, and finding him by surprise before my online pre-order could arrive has made that dream a reality! Is Hasbro off to a good start with my first most-anticipated action figure of 2021?

After being teased in the fall, the 2021 Marvel Legends Firestar Exclusive figure has been revealed and is now up for order! And yes–she comes with Ms. Lion the dog and an animated alternate head! Is this the Firestar you always wanted, Marvel collectors?

Not heading to New York City for NYCC last month, not doing SDCC coverage, and knowing there won’t be a NY Toy Fair in February is a real bummer. But I have to admit—Hasbro has upped their social media game substantially, bringing us a record number of digital reveals this year! And today, we Hasbro revealed and opened pre-orders for the full Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 Stilt-Man series! And believe it or not, the Stilt-Man BAF isn’t the craziest thing in this wave: the Fabulous Frog-Man is legit on the way!

Jonah Jameson Legends: Threat or Menace? Is this the best JJJ figure ever, and are you planning on snagging one, readers? 📰

These are two headliner characters being captured in value-priced bust lines for the first time in over a decade—are they must-haves?

But today’s surprise new Marvel MAFEX figure solicitation is definitely one I would never consider skipping: MAFEX Ben Reilly Spider-Man is now up for order! The Sensational Spider-Man costume is my favorite costume for Spidey—is this action figure also destined to be one of my favorites?
Continue Reading →When Hasbro announced another “Marvel Legends Fan First Friday Tuesday Edition”, my mind immediately raced to recall what figures we still hadn’t seen put up for pre-order at New York Toy Fair 2020 (which has sadly turned out to be the only major toy event of the year). Two figures remained—Venomized Miles Morales and Gwenom Spider-Gwen—so it’s no surprise those were part of the reveal: the 2020 Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Build-A-Figure Series of figures goes up for order today! With a mix of movie, GamerVerse, classic comic book and modern comics characters, this is definitely an eclectic wave…!

Hot Toys kicked off the month in a monumental way by announcing that for this year’s “2020 Toy Fair Exclusive”/”Summer Convention Exclusive”/”San Diego Comic Con Exclusive” releases, we wouldn’t be seeing just one or two of the offerings being Marvel-themed… all four would be from Marvel movies and video games! Sideshow Collectibles seems to be spreading out the pre-orders for these across “Comic Con At Home” week, and they’re starting big with the one I expect to be most popular: the Exclusive Hot Toys Spider-Man 2099 Figure is now up for order!
