But today’s surprise new Marvel MAFEX figure solicitation is definitely one I would never consider skipping: MAFEX Ben Reilly Spider-Man is now up for order! The Sensational Spider-Man costume is my favorite costume for Spidey—is this action figure also destined to be one of my favorites?

When Hasbro announced another “Marvel Legends Fan First Friday Tuesday Edition”, my mind immediately raced to recall what figures we still hadn’t seen put up for pre-order at New York Toy Fair 2020 (which has sadly turned out to be the only major toy event of the year). Two figures remained—Venomized Miles Morales and Gwenom Spider-Gwen—so it’s no surprise those were part of the reveal: the 2020 Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Build-A-Figure Series of figures goes up for order today! With a mix of movie, GamerVerse, classic comic book and modern comics characters, this is definitely an eclectic wave…!

Hot Toys kicked off the month in a monumental way by announcing that for this year’s “2020 Toy Fair Exclusive”/”Summer Convention Exclusive”/”San Diego Comic Con Exclusive” releases, we wouldn’t be seeing just one or two of the offerings being Marvel-themed… all four would be from Marvel movies and video games! Sideshow Collectibles seems to be spreading out the pre-orders for these across “Comic Con At Home” week, and they’re starting big with the one I expect to be most popular: the Exclusive Hot Toys Spider-Man 2099 Figure is now up for order!

Kotobukiya only brought along a singular piece of concept art for their long-running Marvel Bishoujo statues series when they travelled to New York Toy Fair 2020 during the winter, so there was never any mystery regarding what the next release would be: Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. The original 2011 release required an awful support stand and looked too much like a little girl for me, so I had high hopes for this new iteration. And now that the Kotobukiya Black Cat Steals Your Heart Bishoujo statue is up for order, I’m happy to say that my optimism has been rewarded…

A previously quiet week for Marvel collectors comes to an end with a cacophony of news today, as Hasbro has dropped more Marvel Legends pre-orders on us today than in the last 3 months combined! And the highlight of these new items solicited today for Spider-Man fans won’t surprise anyone: the Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Series figures are now up for order! And while we saw half the wave at NY Toy Fair, the other half revealed today is absolutely loaded with Electro, Green Goblin and even Armored Daredevil!

It’s been quiet times as of late, but Hasbro has finally broken the silence with a reveal today that ought to make some noise amongst collectors of Marvel 6″ figures: an Exclusive Marvel Legends Mysterio figure in Retro Packaging is now up for order! Many fans missed the comic book-based Mysterio that came out two years back–and that figure now sells for hefty prices on the aftermarket–so I imagine this updated version of Spider-Man Legends Mysterio is definitely going to excite plenty of fans missing this classic villain from their collections!

Two Marvel topics guaranteed to get me warm and fuzzy are Marvel mini busts and the various 90s animated cartoon series (headlined by the X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons). I never thought those two facets would come together—but thanks to Diamond Select Toys, now they have! The low-priced Jim Lee Cyclops bust kicking off the line just shipped out, with guaranteed hits like Wolverine and Magneto coming up fast. And at Toy Fair, DST expanded their offerings further by debuting Spider-Man, Deadpool, Mysterio and more!
