We saw it painted at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con last month, so it’s not going to shock anyone that the Marvel Now Hulk ARTFX+ Statue is kicking off the Kotobukiya Avengers Now line. While the announcement is an expected one, however, it’s still nice to see Kotobukiya post the official glamor photos of their upcoming ARTFX+ Hulk Statue and let us know that we’ll have to make space on our shelves for this jade giant in March 2014…

2014 is going to be an expensive year for high-end Marvel collectors. I mean, it’s always an expensive year for Marvel high-end collectors, but 2014 is looking like it’s going to be especially crazy. On top of a veritable armada of Hot Toys Iron Man Movie Masterpiece Series figures, Sideshow Marvel Premium Format Figure Statues, and Kotobukiya ArtFX+/Fine Arts Statues, Sideshow has also slipped in a new trio of Spider-Man Comiquettes, including this knockout Gwen Stacy Statue that is now up for order!

Coming in November 2013, Bowen Designs will be releasing a pair of Marvel villains–one of which legendary, and the other a cult favorite. Get ready for the first-ever Bowen Stryfe and Red Skull Action Pose Statues!
Continue Reading →Though much of the focus on Kotobukiya at San Diego Comic Con 2013 was focused on their upcoming Avengers Marvel NOW ARTFX+ statues, the Kotobukiya Fine Arts statues line made itself known with two brand new 1/6 scale statues.
From the X-Men side of the Marvel Universe, the 2014 Kotobukiya Juggernaut and X-Force Psylocke statues have now made their public debuts at SDCC 2013!
Continue Reading →Remember last week, when we saw that very early prototype teaser image of a new comic book style Sideshow Red Skull Premium Format Figure? Yeah? Well… it turns out it wasn’t quite as early in the developmental cycle as we may have thought. Just how far along is the new Premium Format Red Skull statue?
Well–as it turns out, the all-new 2014 Red Skull Premium Format Figure is completely finished and on display right now at the Sideshow Collectibles booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2013!
Continue Reading →Man, we haven’t even made it to the first official full day of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con yet, and already companies are being absolutely relentless in their efforts to secure our future dollars! (And I love it!).
Next up at bat is Sideshow Collectibles, which has somehow done the impossible by debuting a statue at SDCC 2013 that’s even bigger than their Gladiator Hulk Premium Format–it’s the Sideshow Apocalypse Premium Format Figure Statue!
Continue Reading →One thing that I absolutely love about Bowen Designs as opposed to a lot of other companies that make high-end Marvel products is that Bowen’s estimated release dates tend to be fairly accurate, and items usually go up for order within about six months (sometimes less) of a product’s release. Unfortunately, delays do happen, and some statues slip through the cracks. But though they’re running about half a year behind, the Bowen Designs Modular Iron Man and Beast statues are finally shipping out this month!
Continue Reading →Bowen Designs has been making Marvel statues longer than any other company, and the result is that they’re now able to dive in and produce legions of secondary and even tertiary Marvel Comics characters to complete teams, rogues galleries and more. One of the most impressive roll-calls in the Bowen Marvel Statues line is the huge assortment of Spider-Man villains immortalized as statues. And Randy Bowen has recently shared a concept sketch of a proposed upcoming piece of a Marvel villain who’s never been done in this form before: it’s the Bowen Shocker Statue!
Continue Reading →When you collect a line as long as I’ve collected Bowen Designs Marvel sculptures, you expect to see some familiar faces redone. Such is the case with the October 2013 Bowen statues that have just gone up for order, as both statues are of characters that we’ve seen multiple times before in the Bowen Marvel Statues line. One of the characters has appeared twice before from Bowen and the other a near uncountable number of times–it’s the Bowen Designs Green Goblin Museum Statue and Astonishing X-Men Wolverine Statues!
Continue Reading →Kotobukiya has a real treat lined up to close out the 2013 lineup of Marvel Bishoujo statues: an all-new X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo statue! While Kotobukiya has released Psylocke before, the original Psylocke statue is 1:8 scale and out of scale with the current Bishoujo figures being released (not to mention mega-expensive). But Kotobukiya has heard the demand for a new and properly scaled Marvel Bishoujo Psylocke loud and clear–and she’s coming our way in December 2013!
Continue Reading →I wasn’t certain that this day would ever come, but to the surprise of many, the first-ever Marvel 2099 Universe high-end collectible is set to be released this summer! Miguel O’ Hara has had several low-end figures in the Spider-Man Legends, Minimates, and Marvel Universe lines, but now it’s time to hit the big time: the Bowen Designs Spider-Man 2099 Statue is set for release in July 2013!
