Having owned a copious number of Toybiz Marvel figures as a kid in the 90s makes me exactly the demographic that MONDO is targeting with their popular Marvel 1/6 figure lines. They’ve successfully sold me a half-dozen-plus X-Men 92 figures, and now they’ve moved on to the Spider-Verse: the 1/6 MONDO Spider-Man Animated Series Spidey and Venom figures are currently up for order!

Catching up and summarizing some odds and ends today, in the form of a handful of Hasbro Marvel Legends one-off releases. Hasbro is definitely looking to please new collectors and those who missed out on popular releases, as we are getting updates to two previous Build-A-Figures: Marvel Legends Man-Thing and a deluxe Odin figure are now available individually! Meanwhile, a retooled Song movie Venom is making a comeback at Target, and the long-requested Death’s Head appears as a SDCC 2024 exclusive!

While Hot Toys and SH Figuarts put their Venom 2 versions up for sale long ago, Hasbro is finally ready to follow suit: the all-huge and all-new Let There Be Carnage Marvel Legends Carnage movie figure is finally up for order!

The heyday of busts may be over, but you wouldn’t know that from the newest round of Marvel Diamond Select Toys solicitations! Along with an 11” MODOK Marvel Gallery figure, the latest DST solicits include not one, not two, but -three- busts: Wolverine, Venom and Moon Knight! Should any of these new statues be bound for your collection?
Continue Reading →Diamond Select Toys is putting a lot of emphasis on their newer properties like Darkwing Duck, Transformers Beast Wars and AEW Wrestling in the newest batch of solicits, but they still have ample love and goodness to share with Marvel fans! In addition to the previously discussed Marvel Select Beta Ray Bill figure, Marvel Gallery Venompool and Animated Hawkeye statues are now up for order!
Continue Reading →Hasbro may not have revealed quite as many never-before-seen Marvel Legends figures as some fans expected at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 last month, but they did show a rather diverse variety of characters. And two of those characters are “team” completing symbiotes that haven’t gotten new figures in 20+ years—until now! We won’t have to go out hunting for Riot and Agony to complete the ML Life Foundation quintet—the Amazon Exclusive Venom, Riot and Agony 3-Pack is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Ever since Sideshow Collectibles debuted the painted prototype of their upcoming new iteration of the Lethal Protector last July, fans have been asking when they’ll have the opportunity to place their pre-orders for the hulking 23” brute. Well, out of nowhere and with little fanfare, that day has arrived: the new 1/4 Sideshow Venom Premium Format Figure is now up for order! How much will this massive monster set you back, and is he worth the spatial and monetary cost?
Continue Reading →ven the hundreds and hundreds of 6” Marvel Legends figures Hasbro has cranked out over the last decade, you might think there are few significant characters left needing an update from Toybiz or even needing their first ML action figure. But as it turns out, there’s still some fan-favorites waiting for the limelight—and Hasbro is kicking off the first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2022 Build-A-Figure wave with one such character! One of the last remaining key characters necessary to complete the Maximum Carnage 90s crossover lineup is the sound-manipulating psychopath herself: the 2022 Marvel Legends Shriek figure is in the house!
Continue Reading →Sony shocked everyone earlier this week when, after numerous delays over the last year, they actually moved the released date for the Venom 2 movie forward to October 1st! That means Venom: Let There Be Carnage will now be in theaters in under a month—and what better way to celebrate than with some new(-ish) merch, right? In a wildly unexpected move of their own, Kotobukiya is bringing “Renewal Editions” of their ARTFX+ Venom and Carnage statues back up for pre-order with new paint, new heads and even all new bases! Do these new additions make these 1/10 PVC statues worth their new higher prices?
Continue Reading →We’re fast approaching the Venom 2 movie hitting theaters in October, and that means merch season is about to be in full swing. We got the “related” Marvel Legends Venom series and Kotobukiya Carnage last year due to the movie’s delay, but Sideshow debuted all-new 1/4 versions of the symbiotes during Sideshow Con 2021 last month. And up first to launch is the new Sideshow Carnage Premium Format Figure! And Cletus Kassidy isn’t coming alone—Sideshow’s newest 1/4 Captain America statue is up for order now as well!
Continue Reading →San Diego Comic Con is generally the singular biggest event of the year for Sideshow Collectibles to unveil new statues at, and while SDCC 2021 isn’t *really* happening this year as a physical show, Sideshow has been holding their own Sideshow Con 2021 this week instead! I’m somewhat disappointed in the lack of new X-Men statues from them, but Sideshow otherwise hit us up with a grand slam of other new headliner 1/4 statue Marvel Premium Format Figures: Venom, Carnage, Captain America and Black Widow!
Continue Reading →Earlier today, Hasbro officially announced the return of Hasbro PulseCon for 2021! As Hasbro PulseCon is a virtual convention focused on bringing fans online exclusive figures and web-based panels, it seemed like a no-brainer that we’d be seeing an exclusive Marvel Legends figure (or figures) announced sooner than later. But Hasbro really wasted no time, as just a couple hours after announcing the con itself, the Hasbro PulseCon 2021 Exclusive Marvel Legends Venom Retro Series figure has now been revealed!
Continue Reading →Hasbro displayed some pretty rad figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 last February (right before they world ground to a halt), and one of the surprise figures that most captured my eyes was the Venomized Miles Morales Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Series figure. I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?
Continue Reading →We are living in an unprecedented era of Hasbro giving us a deeper cut of Marvel characters as action figures than has ever been seen before. As such, not every character will be to every fan’s liking. That’s how I felt about today’s review subject. While you have to buy the whole 2020 Marvel Legends Venom series to build the Venompool Build-A-Figure, I was hellbent on hating this BAF. But once I got him assembled, well… I felt a little different…
Continue Reading →Yesterday I covered the figures and statues in the Diamond Select Toys October 2020 solicitations, and now it’s time to finish the job by looking at the two new Marvel busts that they’ll be adding to their lineups in early 2021: the 1/2 scale Legends in 3D Carnage Bust and X-Men Animated Rogue Bust are now up for order! These are two headliner characters being captured in value-priced bust lines for the first time in over a decade—are they must-haves?
