Any way you slice it, the Build-A-Figure of the 2025 X-Men Marvel Legends wave is definitely a weird one. Hasbro is calling this 616 character [Genocide] “Nemesis”, even though they already assigned that name previously to another totally different Apocalypse-related character [Age of Apocalypse Holocaust] that just so happens to look like 616’s Genocide. The march to the new year is officially on, and as we enter the home stretch, Hasbro is continuing to tease collectors with more Marvel Legends 2025 figures coming our way this winter. Last week, they quietly announced the Marvel Legends Moonstone (Dark Ms. Marvel/Warbird), giving fans the first-ever 6” figure of super-villain Karla Soren in her Dark Avengers costume. And at this week’s Lucca 2024 event in Italy, two more surprises were revealed: Marvel Legends Fabian Cortez (of X-Men fame) and a powered-up version of The Spot from last year’s Across the Spider-Verse movie!

Diamond Select Toys brought a smaller than usual assemblage of new Marvel collectibles to New York Comic Con 2024, so I was a mite worried we wouldn’t get a good round of DST solicitations this month. New York Comic Con is not the mecca for toy reveals that it once was, but we haven’t reached a day where collectibles companies are just ignoring it either.
