Sideshow Collectibles teased fans this morning when they announced that two “long-awaited pre-orders” would finally be going up for order today in honor of the last day of Spooktacular 2013! Most Marvel fans latched onto this tidbit with dreams of the limited Hot Toys Midas Iron Man 1/6 figure flashing before their eyes, as that’s easily the most-anticipated item not up for sale. Well, Sideshow did make good on their promise of a long-coming pre-order, though not the one fans had in mind–the Sideshow Apocalypse Premium Format Figure Exclusive Edition is now up for order!

It’s sad, but it’s true–the final wave of the Hasbro Marvel Universe 3 3/4″ action figures line is now upon us. Hasbro has been releasing new series fast and furious this fall, and we’ve quickly gone from none of the Marvel Universe 2013 figure waves being released to all of them being released. Say “goodbye” to Marvel Universe and hello to Omega Red, Alpha Flight (Aurora), Black Knight and AoA Nightcrawler–Marvel Universe Wave 24 (2013 Series 5) has now been released and is available for order!

Though the Wolverine Legends Puck Series of Marvel Legends 6″ figures missed the theatrical release of “The Wolverine” movie by two months, this series of Wolverine Marvel Legends figures never really had anything to do with the movie to begin with (other than the fact that Wolverine stars in both). “No. Way. No freaking way.” Those were my words this morning when I woke up and saw the latest news from Kotobukiya. It figures–it just figures–that immediately after I make a post in which my usual distaste for the Kotobukiya Bishoujo statue line shines through, Kotobukiya goes and shows a Marvel Bishoujo statue concept design illustration that blows me out of this world. I never thought they would pick her, but Kotobukiya has selected the one instant-buy female character in the whole Marvel Universe: it’s the Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo statue!

Gentle Giant Marvel Bust collectors went into San Diego Comic-Con 2013 with certain expectations for what characters we might see added to the Marvel Mini Bust line, with certain heavy-hitters like Thor: The Dark World busts and Iron Fist and so forth in mind. What actually debuted at SDCC is a bust I suspect no one was expecting: the Gentle Giant Zombie Magneto Marvel Zombies bust! Out of the blue and defying expectations, Hot Toys abruptly fully-revealed their “The Wolverine” Hot Toys sixth scale figure, based on the summer’s (not-quite) blockbuster Wolverine movie! Coming in 2014, the Hot Toys The Wolverine Movie Masterpiece Series figure is now up for pre-order!

Bowen Beast & Modular Iron Man Statues Shipping This Month!

One thing that I absolutely love about Bowen Designs as opposed to a lot of other companies that make high-end Marvel products is that Bowen’s estimated release dates tend to be fairly accurate, and items usually go up for order within about six months (sometimes less) of a product’s release. Unfortunately, delays do happen, and some statues slip through the cracks. But though they’re running about half a year behind, the Bowen Designs Modular Iron Man and Beast statues are finally shipping out this month!
