X-Men Marvel Legends Rogue & Pyro Figures Two Pack Up for Order!

Just when fans though it might be curtains as far as new reveals for the Marvel Legends X-Men 20th Anniversary series went, we’ve got another comic-based multi-pack to add to the lineup! Its existence has been heavily rumored for months now and even mistakenly revealed by major online retailers, but now it’s official: the X-Men Marvel Legends Rogue and Pyro two-pack is now up for order! While it’s not the Jim Lee Rogue re-release fans have been demanding, I think these figures will be popular nonetheless…

Kudos to Hasbro on the artwork on the back of this new packaging! I loved it on the Nimrod/Fantomex/Psylocke 3-Pack, and I love it here. I’d happily eschew the traditional Marvel Legends box backs if we could get beautiful illustrations like these on the back of all of the comic book based action figures!X-Men Legends Rogue Pyro 2-Pack Hasbro 2020Hasbro Pyro Marvel Legends 2020 X-Men FigureMarvel Legends Pyro Figure 2020 Two Pack with Rogue

In my eyes, this is a much-needed upgrade to Pyro. While the Toybiz Pyro had nice sculpting and articulation for the time, it came with zero fire effects and had an ugly brown color on the upper torso instead of the fiery orange that many St. John Allerdyce fans prefer.

I think it’s worth noting that the “glove-removing” hand that the Marvel Hasbro team showed in a recent livestream isn’t present here–meaning that there’s at least one more Rogue on the way. I would guess that that’s an Age of Apocalypse Rogue action figure, rather than another Jim Lee iteration, but who knows when or where we’ll see the curtain dropped on that future Southern Belle.

2020 Marvel Legends Rogue X-Men Hasbro Figure Two-Pack with Pyro

The X-Men Legends Pyro and Rogue figures two-pack is now up for order, and is scheduled to ship out in Q4 2020. I haven’t heard any rumors of any additional Hasbro X-Men figures for this year (beyond the likely Hellfire Club Guard army-builder), so unless Hasbro has got some more aces up their sleeves, I think we have now seen all of this year’s X-Men Legends figures revealed and solicited for pre-orders.

What do you think of this latest twin pack, X-Men fans? Is this Pyro an improvement over the original one that Toybiz released over a decade ago, or are you satisfied with your vintage version? And those needing a Rogue still–will this version fulfill your collection’s needs, or are you still waiting and hoping for a retooled or reissued Jim Lee Rogue Legends figure?

  1. I’m glad to see this more modern version of Rogue finally get a release along with the fact that they have updated the outfit; no more glaring cleavage, the white straps/lines are now painted/molded on the figure instead of being loose pieces (like the 2016 Rogue has and something I still hate about the Puck B.A.F. Emma Frost figure with her belt) and with the up to date articulation design.

If Hasbro does a re-issue of the Jim Lee style Rogue (which I am so glad I found in store), perhaps they could do a kind of Danger Room style box set similar to the Toy Biz X-Men set from many, many years ago?

  2. This is pretty nice. I’m still waiting for an original Rogue from when she first joined the X-men though. I might have to wait forever for that though.

    • Any day they’d like to do that early Rogue you’re talking about with an original Psylocke, Kitty in her Sprite blue and white costume and Rachel in her first costume, I’d be all for it.

  3. The $25 price point on these figures is a bit ridiculous. They are almost pricing themselves out of their worth, and that’s when I stop buying. Just ask my baseball card and comic book collecting hobby. So, with the $5 per figure increase, this makes a 2 pack $10 more expensive than it used to be. Not worth it, to me.

I have the 90’s Rogue, so I’m fine with just that. I’d like Pyro, but not for $50. This Pyro looks too thick. The Pyro that I know, is skinny and lankey, like Spiderman build. Even his face looks too filled out. If this dips below the price increase, I may decide to get it, but with all that I mentioned, I won’t be upset if I don’t.

    • I’ve noticed that I’ve been saving a lot more money in the past few months because of the SIP, so the extra $5 is no big deal. I agree with your assessment on Pyro. His thighs are way too big and so are his calf muscles. Hasbro need to realize that some characters are muscular and some are not. Pyro is in the later category.

    • I would wait for them all to go on clearance. They have never been able to sustain this price level at retail. Few I would buy at full price (maybe that new retro wave Spider-Man. History shows that the retro waves tend to stink up the shelves.)

Pyro is a bit thick. I wonder if that plastic collar will get in the way of articulation. The Phoenix Five Cyclops would have had one that rendered the ab crunch unusable, which is why I think it was cancelled. The earlier version of Rogue also looked like a low effort, with the often used cleavage sculpt.

  4. Love both figures but I’m confused by this pairing. I’d have loved to see a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants box set with Pyro, Avalanche, Blob, and Destiny (to go with my Mystique and Spiral figures). Nonetheless this is a must-get!

  5. Rogue looks truly truly awful! She looks like a smirky desperate housewife. She looks old and I don’t even like her costume. Just buying this for Puro ain’t gonna cut it for me so I will pass on this! What a lost opportunity to give us a nice rogue instead of this truly ugly figurine 🙁
