Kotobukiya Spider-Man ARTFX+ Statue Revealed

It begins again! Having spent the past two years building the core rosters of the Marvel NOW! Avengers and X-Men teams in ARTFX+ statue form, Kotobukiya is moving on to the other most-beloved corner of the Marvel Universe for their next series of 1/10 scale statues: Spider-Man!

Kotobukiya Thanos Statue Infinity Gauntlet Close-Up

Kotobukiya teased us with their 1/6 Thanos statue at NYCC 2015 and then showed off the prototype in-person for the first time at the 2016 New York Toy Fair, so it’s been over half a year now that we’ve known this piece has been coming.

But now we know when the Mad Titan is coming, what extras he’s coming with, and for how much–the Kotobukiya Thanos Fine Arts Statue is now up for order!

Kotobukiya Magneto ARTFX+ Statue White Version Review

Kotobukiya X-Men Magneto ARTFX+ Review White Version

I used to find it virtually unthinkable that I would ever prefer any modern costume over Magento’s classic red and purple duds. But then a crazy thing happened: I fell in love with ** Magneto in the Marvel Puzzle Quest game, and white costume Magneto quickly became my favorite costume for him ever. And now, as unlikely as it seemed, the Marvel NOW! white costume has been captured in statue form, and for just over 50 bucks the white Kotobukiya Magneto ARTFX+ Statue is now mine

Kotobukiya Civil War Captain America & Iron Man ARTFX+ Statues!

Captain America Civil War Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Statues

Though we’re under a month away from the theatrical release of the Captain America: Civil War movie in theaters, we hadn’t heard a peep from Kotobukiya about any collectibles for the movie. At least, not until this week, when they revealed a pair of complementary statues. I don’t think there’s a Marvel collector in the world who’ll be truly surprised by the characters chosen, but these sure are nice-looking Captain America and Iron Man ARTFX+ statues!

Kotobukiya Wolverine ARTFX+ Statue Photos & Order Info!

Wolverine Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Statue Close-Up

At this time last year, I was still whining about how Kotobukiya hadn’t even brought unpainted prototypes of any of their Marvel Now X-Men ARTFX+ statues series to New York Toy Fair 2015. Barely over a year later, and that’s a complaint of the past! Not only did Koto have the entire range of ARTFX+ X-Men statues on display at New York Toy Fair 2016, but with this week’s pre-order, the cycle–and the team–are complete: the Kotobukiya Wolverine ARTFX+ statue is now up for order!

Toy Fair 2016: Kotobukiya Wolverine ARTFX+ Statue Photos!

Since Kotobukiya already showed off the official photos of Rogue and put her up for order earlier this week, I had my hopes high that we’d at least get to see an unpainted prototype of the last figure in the Kotobukiya X-Men ARTFX+ statue line at New York Toy Fair 2016 this weekend. Instead, the finished, painted prototype made its debut: the Kotobukiya Wolverine ARTFX+ Statue has now been revealed!

Kotobukiya X-Men Rogue ARTFX+ Statue Up for Order!

Kotobukiya Rogue ARTFX+ Statue Pre-Order

My, how time flies! It feels like just yesterday, but it was actually almost exactly a year ago to the day that I was lamenting that Kotobukiya didn’t have a single one of their X-Men ARTFX+ statues on display at last year’s Toy Fair.

And now, as I get ready to leave for the New York Toy Fair 2016, the penultimate character in the line has been fully revealed: the Kotobukiya X-Men Rogue ARTFX+ Statue is now up for order!

Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Bishoujo Statue Up for Order!

Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Statue Up for Order

When Kotobukiya had official photos to show over the weekend alongside the first public look at the painted prototype of their Bishoujo Spider-Gwen statue at Japan’s Winter Wonder Festival 2016, the writing was on the wall that the immensely-anticipated Gwen Stacy staue pre-order was imminent.

And as it turns out, we didn’t have long to wait for her: the Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Bishoujo statue is now up for order!

Kotobukiya Rogue Jim Lee Head Close-Up

All good things must come to an end in the collectibles world, and it looks like–at least for now–the beloved Kotobukiya X-Men Danger Room Sessions statues have come to an end. Sadly, it looks like there’s no Beast, Iceman or Jubilee on the horizon anytime soon. But before the end, the long-awaited Kotobukiya Rogue statue is finally shipping out this month! After years in development, did Koto do justice to the beauty of the X-Men’s southern belle?

Kotobukiya Beast ARTFX+ Statue Now Up for Order!

Close-Up of Beast Kotobukiya Statue

It was a pretty big bummer that the Kotobukiya X-Men Beast ARTFX+ statue was a no-show at the Kotobukiya booth at New York Comic-Con 2015 last week, as the Beast statue had been teased before the show and many collectors had expected it to be on display there. We did get to see one slide of the ARTFX+ Beast during the Kotobukiya panel on Sunday, but it’s just not the same as seeing the figure close-up in all its glory. But at least Koto didn’t make us wait too much longer to see glam shots of Mrs. McCoy’s baby boy: the Kotobukiya Beast ARTFX+ statue is now up for order!

NYCC 2015: Kotobukiya Thanos Beast Spider-Gwen Statues!

Kotobukiya Thanos Fine Arts Statue NYCC 2015

If there was one Marvel collectibles-producing manufacturer whose New York Comic-Con 2015 showing came perilously close to disappointing me, it was Kotobukiya. With the exception of some Spider-Gwen Bishoujo concept art, there were zero new Marvel products on display at the Kotobukiya booth.

But it turns out Koto was actually just holding out on us until their Sunday panel, where they revealed new statues of Thanos, Beast and Spider-Gwen!

Exclusive Kotobukiya Magneto White Costume ARTFX+ Statue!

White Magneto Variant Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Statue

It was almost a full year ago at New York Comic Con 2014 that Kotobukiya made their grandiose reveal of their next Marvel ARTFX+ statue series: the Marvel NOW! X-Men. The highlights of that black & white Adi Granov concept art for me were Magik and what I thought to be my favorite costume for Magneto. My heart plummeted when it turned out to be a different Magneto costume, but Koto has come through in the end: the exclusive Kotobukiya Magneto White Costume statue is now available for order!

Kotobukiya Rampaging Hulk ARTFX+ Statue Review!

Entertainment Earth Exclusive Rampaging Hulk Statue Review

Much like a whole generation of kids who grew up swearing to it that Optimus Prime crumbles to dust in the 1986 Transformers movie, it’s likely that there will be millions of viewers out there in a few years who insist there was a grey Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But while that too is a fallacy, Hulk does look a more muted green while under the Scarlet Witch’s spell–and that’s the basis for this Entertainment Earth exclusive Kotobukiya Rampaging Hulk ARTFX+ statue that I like far more than I expected to…
