Having already covered my favorite character (the anthropomorphic amphibian one) in the 2021 Marvel Legends Into the Spider-Verse Stilt-Man Series, let’s move on now to the character in the wave that I was least excited about. After getting a classic comics-based Prowler Legends figure in Lizard Build-A-Figure Series in 2018, I wasn’t really sure I needed an Uncle Aaron Prowler Version from the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse animated film. Rumors have been a-swirlin’ all winter that Hasbro had a new Marvel Legends Maestro figure in development. Initially fans thought this evil, future Hulk might be coming in the “Bring on the Bad Guys” wave, but leaks indicated that might not be the case. And to kick off the second month of 2021, Hasbro has confirmed that (and this year’s second new ML figure)—the new deluxe Marvel Legends Maestro figure is now up for order! But while fans have been awaiting a new Maestro Hulk figure, this may not be quite the version some had in mind…

Hasbro displayed some pretty rad figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 last February (right before they world ground to a halt), and one of the surprise figures that most captured my eyes was the Venomized Miles Morales Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Series figure. I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?

Hasbro has delivered time and time again with their Marvel Fan First Friday livestreams throughout 2020, and for their final one of the year, they’ve done so once again! After first teasing a House of X series of X-Men Legends way back at NYCC 2019 in October 2019, they slowly revealed the contents of the wave throughout 2020. And now, not only has the full lineup been revealed with the just-announced Tri-Sentinel Build-A-Figure, but the Marvel Legends X-Men House of X Series of figures is now up for order!

I really, really miss events and conventions. Not heading to New York City for NYCC last month, not doing SDCC coverage, and knowing there won’t be a NY Toy Fair in February is a real bummer. But I have to admit—Hasbro has upped their social media game substantially, bringing us a record number of digital reveals this year! And today, we Hasbro revealed and opened pre-orders for the full Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 Stilt-Man series! And believe it or not, the Stilt-Man BAF isn’t the craziest thing in this wave: the Fabulous Frog-Man is legit on the way!

Although I reviewed all seven figures in the actual Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends X-Men wave of 6″ figures, there was one last figure in the overall theme I was waiting on to review. And while I never managed to track one down at retail, the X-Men Legends Apocalypse Age of Apocalypse deluxe boxed figure I ordered from Amazon arrived this week. Peter David’s X-Factor 90s run might be the first X-Men spin-off comic book series that I ever truly loved, so to say Hasbro got my attention when they started building this roster in super-articulated form would be an understatement. I was skeptical the team would come to fruition, but with Guido’s arrival this summer, 90s X-Factor is (more ore less) complete! You’ll have to buy every figure in this year’s Marvel Legends X-Force/Deadpool wave to build the Strong Guy Build-A-Figure: is he worth it?
