UPDATE 11/21/2018: Though the Marvel Legends Magik and Thing figures started appearing at some Walgreens stores almost two months ago, a lot of collectors have still been struggling to find them locally. UPDATE 11/17/2018: For those who haven’t found him locally and/or missed the PO in the summer, the Gamestop Exclusive Marvel Legends PS4 Spider-Man 6″ figure is in-stock and back up online while he lasts! I’ve heard quite a few people say these have been getting bought up by their local scalpers, so online may be the way to go for those folks in scalper zones. Those who’ve got their Hasbro GamerVerse Spider-Man figure already: what do you think?
Continue Reading →With somewhere between a month and a month and a half before the 2019 Marvel Legends Black Panther M’Baku Series starts appearing, we’ve got a bit of time to wait before we’re likely to see more Hasbro ML news. But hey, it’s not a total loss, as I still have plenty of review-less 2018 figures to cover! The Venom Legends series has been almost a unilateral win across the board so far, but there’s one figure left to review: Marvel Legends Typhoid Mary is already selling for below retail price, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a solid figure…
Continue Reading →Today is likely to forevermore be the saddest day in the history of Marvel, as the iconic genius Stan Lee has left us. It’s a loss we’ll all be feeling for years, but I think also an ideal time to look ahead to the future of the company that Stan Lee made a legend (and vice versa). And what better series to look at than what’s been announced for the 2019 Marvel Legends Avengers 4 Figures lineup, an assortment running the gamut of comic book characters from Stan’s early days through characters from the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies…
Continue Reading →With no more major toy conventions in 2018 and the Black Panther Legends M’Baku Series at least a month away from shipping out (and very possibly being held for a January 1st, 2019 release date), we’re likely going to be going through a bit of a Marvel Legends news dry spell once again for the rest of the year. Which means it’s time to dig into the big cache of unreviewed figures once again! Last time, I talked about one of the best Build-A-Figures ever in Sauron, and this time, let’s look at one of the Deadpool Wave 2 figures you need to buy to build him: Marvel Legends Bishop!
Continue Reading →After a long string of announcements and reveals at various cons spread across Europe and North America, we finally know every figure that’s part of what’s traditionally the most popular wave of the year: X-Men Legends! While buzz surrounding the Caliban Build-A-Figure isn’t exactly setting the world on fire, some of the characters in this series are ones fans have been demanding for the last decade and a half (or longer): new Marvel Legends Beast, Gambit and Jim Lee Jubilee figures!
Continue Reading →The trifecta is now complete, as today Hasbro had their third panel at an international convention in under a week—at Lucca Comics & Games 2018! After seemingly accidentally having the final two figures in the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Kingpin Series briefly in the display case at MCM London last week, we were expecting to see that duo officially confirmed today. And now they have been: Marvel Legends Puma and Six-Armed Spider-Man!
Continue Reading →Last weekend was a good one for Marvel Legends fans, with six new figures debuting at two different cons! And it’s not over yet, with a few more 2019 figures to be officially revealed at Lucca Comics & Games convention this week! But while we wait, it’s time for me to dig back into my deep cache of this year’s Hasbro figures that I haven’t reviewed yet, and today I’m reviewing one of the biggest (literally and metaphorically speaking) figures of the year: the Marvel Legends Sauron Build-A-Figure is selling for $60+ on the aftermarket–is he worth it?
Continue Reading →This is a unique, landmark weekend for Hasbro, because for the very first time ever, they’re unveiling new 2019 Marvel Legends figures at two major international conventions in separate countries in Europe! At Comic Con Paris, we got our first gander at the new Grey Gargoyle and Loki figures. And now, at MCM London, the final figures have been revealed for the first Spider-Man and X-Men waves of 2019: Six-Armed Spider-Man, Puma… and Jim Lee Beast!
Continue Reading →Marvel Legends news has been in short supply in the weeks following New York Comic Con 2018, but the drought is over this weekend with two major international events going on–both complete with their own new Marvel Legends 2019 reveals! And from Comic Con Paris today, we got a first look at two classic villains that have been waiting eons to get 6″Hasbro super-articulated figures of their own: the 2019 Marvel Legends Loki (Comic Book Version) and Grey Gargoyle figures!
Continue Reading →2018 has been the wildest year on record for Marvel collectors, with more figures and collectibles coming from more different companies than ever before! But of the hundreds upon hundreds of relevant new toys that were released this year, one of the absolutely most impressive, popular and difficult to find in stores has been the Hasbro Marvel Legends Infinity Gauntlet Life-Size Replica. But if you haven’t found this amazing Infinity Gauntlet or ordered one online yet, don’t despair–we’ve teamed up with Entertainment Earth to give away one of these incredible Gauntlets absolutely free! Read on for the details…
Continue Reading →My apologies for the large gap in New York Comic Con coverage! I had braces put in this week, and what I thought was going to be a minor irritant ended up sidelining me for days. Alas. But I’m back now, and looking to fill in the NYCC blanks with the last of the Marvel Legends Hasbro brought along to the show: the previously-announced 2019 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Kingpin Series!
Continue Reading →I’m ready to move on to taking about other companies’ showings from New York Comic Con 2018, which means it’s time to finish up my Hasbro Marvel Legends 2019 coverage. There were three more new ML 6” figures announced at the event, with one having been all but confirmed months ago and the other two are a complete surprise. Coming our way next year: Marvel Legends Beta Ray Bill, Forge and the… Caliban Build-A-Figure?!
Continue Reading →Hasbro hit us with quite a few curveballs at NYCC 2018, and one of them that I definitely did not see coming was the next Marvel Legends two-pack to be announced! Although we got a modern Kraven Legends figures just a few years ago as part of the Rhino Series, that Kraven wasn’t to the liking of a lot of classic fans. But as usual, the Hasbro Marvel team had something up their sleeve to please fans of all eras, and they revealed it at New York Comic-Con: a Marvel Legends Kraven’s Last Hunt two-pack with classic Kraven and Black Costume Spider-Man figures!
Continue Reading →New York Comic Con 2018 comes to an end today, and that means I can dig in and start to work on comprehensive coverage of the convention, including the biggest event of the show for Marvel collectors: the NYCC Hasbro Marvel Legends Press Event! This featured an interview Q&A with the Hasbro team and numerous new reveals, including a few that really sold me on one of next year’s ML sets I was previously lukewarm on: the Marvel Legends Deadpool Scooter set now comes with a Bob Agent of Hydra head and more!
