In the week leading up to last wee: inaugural HasCon convention, a rumor list for the X-Men Marvel Legends 2018 series began making the rounds–a list that looked a whole lot more plausible when new Storm, Psylocke and Wolverine figures were revealed at HasCon. nd now, it looks like the rest of this series has been all but confirmed as well, as Amazon listings for a new Marvel Legends Magneto and more have now been posed online!

Although I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from HasCon when it was first announced, the inaugural event turned out to be one of the more unique and focused conventions that I’ve attended. A con where the unifying element is programming and displays of most of my favorite toy brands ever? Sign me up. But even more than the reveals at the show, I was excited to come home with the HasCon Exclusive Marvel Legends X-Force Deadpool. I was not at all sure that we’d be seeing any of the Marvel Legends 2018 X-Men series at HasCon this weekend, but at their inaugural convention, Hasbro was aiming to blow us away! And so, while we only got to see less than half of the wave, we did get to see three jaw-dropping headliners for the series: Tiger Stripe Wolverine, Mohawk Storm, and the first single-packed Hasbro Psylocke 6″ figure ever!

While there weren’t any previously-unrevealed Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2018 figures on display at HasCon this morning, the five figures previously-revealed for the next wave were all present and spotlighted at the Marvel booth on the floor, including the Lizard Build-A-Figure, Gwenpool, Lasher, Spider-Punk, and my favorite: Mysterio. And at the Marvel Legends panel this evening, one more hero joined the fight: a modern Marvel Legends Spider-Woman figure!

We’re just one week out from the inaugural HasCon, but before Hasbro makes their HasCon reveals, they had one more figure that they wanted to show off first at FanExpo Canada in Toronto this week. Hasbro said they didn’t want to show the 2018 Marvel Legends Deadpool Series Build-A-Figure at SDCC 2017, and now we know why: it’s because he’s Canadian and wanted to make his grand debut in Toronto! Had Marvel Studios not selected Hela to be the primary antagonist of Thor Ragnarok, it’s very likely we’d have never seen her gracing local retail shelves in toy from any company. Ever. But they did, and now Hela is about to become among the most recognizable Marvel female characters in the world! Sometimes figure re-releases end up being a disappointment, as the demand for a reissued figure ends up being less than the manufacturer thought and the toy ends up rotting off the pegs.
