The third time is the charm—or at least, that’s what a lot of Vance Atrovik fans are hoping with regards to the hero’s inevitable third figure. Because the second one, which is the subject of today’s review, isn’t quite the version most fans were hoping for. Marvel Legends Justice is now flying in at retail—is this Void Series figure a winner despite not being the original New Warriors iteration of the character that the line seems ready for?

Last week, Hasbro celebrated Wolverine’s 50th Anniversary with new 6” figures of Lady Mandarin Psylocke and Ninja Wolverine, and this week they’re opening up pre-orders for a two-pack based on another Chris Claremont Wolverine classic: Marvel Legends Patch and Joe Fixit! We’ve had figures of both these characters before, but never together—and never in their matching white tuxes from Wolverine #8! Is this another must-have two-pack?

“Wild and crazy” as descriptors of what happened to Psylocke in the last years of Chris Claremont’s legendary run on Uncanny X-Men. After being reborn, mind wiped, ethnically changed and soul swapped, Betsy briefly became the Mandarin’s assassin, Lady Mandarin. (I swear it reads better than it summarizes.) As Lady Mandarin, Psylocke battled Wolverine (in his “ninja” attire), until Logan defeated Psylocke and restored her free will. And now, thanks to Hasbro, fans will be able to recreate this landmark battle: the Marvel Legends Lady Mandarin Psylocke & Ninja Wolverine figures two-pack is now up for order!

But nope! That version of Vision has only appeared a couple times in his most iconic look over the past 21 years, and those 6” figures are quite expensive to track down. But Hasbro has come to fans’ rescue once again, and an all-new 2024 Marvel Legends Vision figure is now available as part of the Void Series!
Continue Reading →As one of the five original X-Men, you might think we’d see Warren Worthington III in toy form relatively close in frequency to Cyclops, Jean Grey or even Iceman. But nope! Other than Archangel versions, the last classic Angel 6” Marvel Legends figure was released way back in 2005 (by Toybiz). A whole generation has grown up without a chance to buy a 6” Angel figure! Hasbro has decided that’s too long, and thus the first updated Marvel Legends Angel figure in almost two decades is now up for order!

But here we are, and here the prince of Crystalium is. He’s of the more bizarre and unlikely inclusions ever in the Hasbro Marvel Legends series, but is this Crystal Warrior worth starting off your new year with?

Not only is it real, but the first two pairs in the series are up for PO today: Marvel Legends Lilandra & Brood-Infected Wolverine and Cowboy Logan & the larger Jim Lee Sabretooth fans have demanded!

It’s a little bit unbelievable that the veil of secrecy surrounding the 2021 Spider-Man No Way Home movie was so thick that we’re only now getting toys for this mega-blockbuster at mass retail. I gave Sandman from the Marvel Legends No Way Home series a glowing review earlier this month, and now I’m ready to review the freshest Spider-Man in the wave: Tom Holland Spidey in his “final swing” suit from the end of the movie! Is this a 6” Tom Holland Spider-Man worth upgrading to?
Continue Reading →Hasbro gave collectors a heads up before November began that last month was going to be a slow month for Marvel Legends news, and now we can look back in hindsight and agree that they were true to their word. But there was a singular light in the darkness, as the sole figure announced last month is a character neither Hasbro nor Toybiz has ever captured in toy form before: the X-Men Marvel Legends 2024 series will include Shi’ar Empress Lilandra Neramani!
Continue Reading →Sandman isn’t likely to top many fans’ lists for favorite Spider-Man movie villain, but he does have an advantage over more popular villains like Doc Ock and Green Goblin in that he’s easy to package as a basic individual $25 action figure.
And so, nearly two years after Spider-Man No Way Home hit theaters, the Hasbro 6” Marvel Legends Sandman No Way Home movie figure is now available. If you don’t have a Flint Marko in your collection, will this MCU Sandman sufficiently fill that void in your life?
Continue Reading →As we march toward the new year and the impending arrival of 2024 Marvel Legends figures, I want to backtrack and finish my in-progress reviews of a couple of this year’s waves. And first up, we’ve got the penultimate figure review in the Hasbro 6” X-Men ‘97 Marvel Legends Series: Storm! Ororo has received a multitude of new action figures in recent years—will this one add anything fresh to your collection?
Continue Reading →When Hasbro released their first 6” Marvel Legends Rogue figure in her 90s Jim Lee costume back in 2017, it was a pretty big deal and a hole-filler for many X-Men collectors. Flash-forward 6+ years, and we’ve had multiple X-Men Legends Rogue figures since. Even so, X-Men ‘97 is on the horizon, and that means that every old X-Man is new again for some incoming fans—and Hasbro is ready to service those fans with new and/or upgraded figures! Does the now-available X-Men 97 Rogue Legends figure bring enough to the table to warrant a purchase? Here’s my review…

This second trio also includes a secondary villain, a supporting character and an ultra-obscure Spider-Man— Marvel Legends Tombstone, Hallows Eve and Spider-Shot are now up for order!

While the Spider-Man Clone Saga was once a reviled joke among comic fans, characters from that 90s classic have now risen to become some of the most loved in Spider-Man lore. And so, for the third time in a year, a new Ben Reilly figure is on the way—this time in the form of an updated Marvel Legends Scarlet Spider figure! But Ben’s not coming alone: he’ll be joined in the Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2024 Retro lineup by Jack O’ Lantern and Last Stand Spider-Man!

But now that Marvel Legends collectors have a two foot tall figure to look forward to receiving in the future, let’s jump back to the present and review a new figure of a character -from- the future! The X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Bishop figure is now available—is this version of the X-Men’s time-traveling powerhouse worth picking up?
