Hot Toys Gamma Iron Man Sixth Scale Figure Review

I’m building an entire Hot Toys Iron Man House Party Protocol of sixth scale figures, and when it’s complete, it will be the pinnacle of my toy collection. But while there are plenty of red and gold Iron Man figures that look “the same”, there are also some HPP armors that are wonderfully different. And today, I’m reviewing one of the “different” armors. The Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Gamma Iron Man Mark sixth scale figure is a little bit bigger and a whole lot more green than your typical Iron Man armor, and an absolute must for an Iron Man 3 collection…

Funko Black Panther POP Vinyl Figure Review

While I knew that Black Panther making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as part of this summer’s Captain America: Civil War movie was going to be a big deal, I was totally unprepared for the overwhelming hype and demand for Black Panther toys that has manifested over the last few months. Not only is the Marvel Legends Black Panther selling for hundreds on the aftermarket, but even his POP Vinyl has been a tough grab. In fact, I had to grab my Funko Black Panther POP Vinyl online: was be worth it?

Spider-Man Legends Beetle Figure Review 2016

We’re still in the first quarter of 2016, but already Hasbro has given us some of the most-anticipated figures of the year, including Marvel Legends Venom, Spider-Gwen and Taskmaster. But in the flip side, some of the figures released thus far have been… “less” popular. Such is the case with the subject of today’s review. You can get the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Beetle female figure for below her retail price now online… should you?

Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl Review

I went to bed early last night, got a good night’s sleep and got up bright and sunny this morning–because today was the day the last of the announced mass-release Funko Civil War POP Vinyls was finally scheduled to hit stores! But I quickly hit a snag this morning, when I discovered that all of my local Gamestops–who insisted they wouldn’t take reservations–had decided to reserve out all of their received Giant-Man POPs. Thankfully, my wife was sweet enough to zip over to the closest Gamestop to her job and nab me the last 6″ Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl! Was the big-guy worth all the trouble?

Doctor Strange Marvel Select Figure Review

With a blockbuster MCU movie due out this fall and his first ongoing Marvel comic book series in eons heating up, 2016 is the year of Doctor Strange! The 7″ Diamond Select Toys figure I ordered at my comic shop ended up getting cancelled for some reason, but it turns out fate was interceding on my behalf–I ended up getting the Marvel Select Doctor Strange discounted to $20 shipped online! At the same price as a Marvel Legends figure, I was anticipating being blown away. And with a few provisos, I am…

Hot Topic Exclusive Funko Falcon POP Vinyl Review

When it was announced that a Funko Captain America: Civil War Falcon POP Vinyl would be released as a Hot Topic exclusive, fans rejoiced… and simultaneously grumbled, as the Falcon was the only not-dead movie Avenger to not get the POP Vinyls treatment yet. Well, Falcon finally hit stores within the past week, and while I might have been better off paying five bucks more to get him on the aftermarket, I dropped two hours round trip to hunt one down instead…

Close-Up of 6" Marvel Legends Venom Figure with Tongue Out Head

But now that the news has subsided a bit, let’s get back to talking about this year’s first series of Spider-Man characters with a review of the Marvel Legends Venom! Venom is tough to find and selling for a couple bucks over MSRP on the aftermarket right now–is he worth the hunt?

Mockingbird Marvel Legends 2016 Figure with Batons

When the lineup for the first 2016 Marvel Legends Captain America series was revealed, I was dead certain that Mockingbird, Bobbi Morse, was destined to be the hottest figure in the wave. As things ended up, Taskmaster stole that honor and became the most sought-after figure in the assortment… but not by much! The Marvel Legends Mockingbird figure is selling for a couple bucks above MSRP right now on the aftermarket–and it’s because she’s worth it!

Review Marvel Legends Whirlwind 2016 6 Inch Figure

I’m committed to completing my review of the entire Captain America Marvel Legends Red Onslaught series before I leave for Toy Fair International 2016 in two days, and I’ve got two figures to talk about in that time. One is an almost 100% new tool that came close to totally blowing me away and is super hot on the aftermarket, and the other… isn’t.

Today I’ll be reviewing the latter: Marvel Legends Whirlwind is now available–should you order one?

Marvel Legends Cottonmouth Review

I’m a firm believer in the idea that every character is somebody’s favorite and needs to be treated with respect–but if there’s one character Hasbro has ever produced a 6″ figure of that isn’t anyone’s favorite, it’s likely Cottonmouth. Even so, produce him Hasbro has, and the Marvel Legends Cottonmouth figure is now available! Is it worth expanding your Marvel villains roster with this obscure baddie? Read on for my review…

2016 Marvel Legends Captain America Sharon Carter Review

When the team lineups were announced for each side in this year’s “Captain America: Civil War” movie, there was one character who really stuck out as being a bit out of their depth: Agent 13. I had my worries that Hasbro might pass on making any merch of Agent 13 for the movie–but while we haven’t heard about a movie-styled version of her, a new comics-based Marvel Legends Sharon Carter figure is now available for order! Does this figure satiate my need for a new Sharon Carter toy? Read on…

Cap-Wolf Head Marvel Legends 2016 Close-Up

Just when we all thought that Hasbro had produced every feasible, viable iteration of Captain America in action figure form, Hasbro hit us with a version nobody was expecting: Werewolf Captain America!

Some collectors thought we were being punked when the Marvel Legends Cap-Wolf was first shown, but this is no prank: the Captain America Legends Cap-Wolf figure is now available, and he’s a fun (if not flawed) addition to the line…

Marvel Legends 2016 Red Onslaught Build-A-Figure Review

“My” golden age of comic books (AKA my teenage years) was the 1990’s, so I’ve got a special place in my heart for Onslaught, the villain so powerful he was able to kill Captain America, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. The Red Skull became the new Onslaught in 2014’s (awful) “Axis” crossover, and now Hasbro is bringing us 2014’s most important villain! You’ll have to buy all seven Captain America Marvel Legends 2016 figures to build the Red Onslaught Build-A-Figure… but is he worth it?

Captain America Marvel Legends Scourge Figure Review

Marvel Legends Scourge Review and Photos

“Scourge” is a name that tends to evoke two distinct reactions from various Marvel fans: terror or “Huh?”. A mercenary who primarily kills super-villains, Scourge is a fan-favorite character of longtime Captain America readers and one of the most efficient villain-killers in Marvel Universe history. Those who aren’t big Cap fans, on the other hand… may have never heard of this guy. Even so, the Marvel Legends Scourge figure is now up for order, and if you’re gonna build a Red Onslaught Build-A-Figure, then you’re gonna buy him! And luckily, he’s probably the best figure in the whole wave…
