Posted on by March 14, 2021
X-Men Marvel Legends House of X Jean Grey Review Six Inch Figure

Jonathan Hickman’s House of X/Powers of X is basically the equivalent of the X-Men holy bible in my eyes, so there was never a doubt I would drop everything to review this year’s House of X Marvel Legends X-Men Series figures as soon as I got the set in-hand. And after having to wait a few days for the last figure to arrive so I could bust open the whole set, she’s finally here! Marvel Legends House of X Marvel Girl is the fastest-selling figure in this year’s X-Men Legends series—let’s see if she’s worthy of the hype!

Venom Marvel Legends Venomized Miles Morales Figure REVIEW

Review Marvel Legends Venomized Miles Morales Venompool Series Figure

Hasbro displayed some pretty rad figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 last February (right before they world ground to a halt), and one of the surprise figures that most captured my eyes was the Venomized Miles Morales Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Series figure. I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?

Marvel Legends 2021 Frog-Man Figure Review and Photos

If anyone needed any evidence that absolutely nobody from the Marvel Comics universe is off-the-table anymore for getting an action figure, I point to the subject of today’s review: Spider-Man Marvel Legends Frog-Man! I had hope in my heart that I could review the Fabulous Frog-Man as my first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 review, and finding him by surprise before my online pre-order could arrive has made that dream a reality! Is Hasbro off to a good start with my first most-anticipated action figure of 2021?

REVIEW: Marvel Legends Venompool Build-A-Figure (2020 Venom Series)

Posted on by November 17, 2020
Marvel Legends Venompool Build-A-Figure Review

We are living in an unprecedented era of Hasbro giving us a deeper cut of Marvel characters as action figures than has ever been seen before. As such, not every character will be to every fan’s liking. That’s how I felt about today’s review subject. While you have to buy the whole 2020 Marvel Legends Venom series to build the Venompool Build-A-Figure, I was hellbent on hating this BAF. But once I got him assembled, well… I felt a little different…

Marvel Legends Thunderbird Review Target Exclusive

When pre-orders opened up and then sold out virtually instantaneously for the Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Storm and Thunderbird two-pack, many collectors feared that they were going to have a relative nightmare on their hands. But as fate would have it, this exclusive Marvel Legends Target pack has ended up being plentiful in many stores, leaving collectors with whether or not they want the set, rather than whether or not they can find it. And so, let’s start with a peek at the Marvel Legends Thunderbird figure…

Marvel Legends AOA Apocalypse Deluxe Boxed Figure REVIEW & Photos

Marvel Legends AOA Apocalypse Figure Review 2020

Although I reviewed all seven figures in the actual Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends X-Men wave of 6″ figures, there was one last figure in the overall theme I was waiting on to review. And while I never managed to track one down at retail, the X-Men Legends Apocalypse Age of Apocalypse deluxe boxed figure I ordered from Amazon arrived this week. This may be the last AOA figure that we get from Hasbro for a while (but hopefully not forever)–does this world-conquering En Sabah Nur action figure disappoint?

REVIEW: Marvel Legends Strong Guy Build-A-Figure (X-Force/Deadpool 2020 Series)

Marvel Legends Strong Guy Review

Peter David’s X-Factor 90s run might be the first X-Men spin-off comic book series that I ever truly loved, so to say Hasbro got my attention when they started building this roster in super-articulated form would be an understatement. I was skeptical the team would come to fruition, but with Guido’s arrival this summer, 90s X-Factor is (more ore less) complete! You’ll have to buy every figure in this year’s Marvel Legends X-Force/Deadpool wave to build the Strong Guy Build-A-Figure: is he worth it?

REVIEW: Marvel Legends NIMROD X-Men Amazon 3-Pack Exclusive Figure

Marvel Legends Nimrod Review Hasbro X-Men Legends 2020 Exclusive

Of all the 6” scale figures that Hasbro has coming our way in the Marvel Legends 2020 lineup, nothing made my eyes light up and etched a smile on my face as much as the New York Toy Fair 2020 reveal of the oversized Marvel Legends Nimrod figure. After waiting patiently for over half a year, the Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends X-Men 3-Pack with Nimrod finally arrived this week—but did the ultimate Sentinel have any chance to match up to my sky-high expectations?

2020 Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse Sunfire Figure Review

Posted on by September 13, 2020
Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse Sunfire Figure Review

Perhaps appropriately, the last figure in my series of X-Men Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends reviews is also the one and only figure in the wave that Hasbro has previously done a 6” version of! While the original Hasbro AOA Sunfire figure used to sell for big bucks on the aftermarket, the new 2020 Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse Sunfire is one of the few figures in the wave selling for at or above MSRP. Has Hasbro one-upped their earlier effort to deliver the best AOA Sunfire action figure ever?

REVIEW: Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse MORPH Figure (Sugar Man Series)

Posted on by August 29, 2020
Hasbro Marvel Legends AOA Blink and Morph Figures

My 2020 Deadpool and X-Force Marvel Legends Strong Guy Series figures have started to arrive, so I’ve finally got the motivation I needed to finish off my reviews of the Age of Apocalypse series. Today I’m looking at a figure that I was hyped for the moment it was announced–but has ended up being the pegwarmer of the series! You can get X-Men Marvel Legends Morph for 15 bucks shipped online–is he worth snagging at that discounted price (even if just for the Sugar Man BAF piece)?

Hasbro Marvel Legends 2020 X-Men Age of Apocalypse Wolverine Figure Close-up

It’s been quite a while since my last Marvel Legends reviews, but I’m back and ready to wipe out the last three figures in this year’s X-Men Age of Apocalypse Legends wave! And first up will be the only double-packed figure in the wave. You can get the Marvel Legends AOA Weapon X Wolverine figure for about 15 bucks shipped now online—is he worth picking up at that 20% discount? Here’s my review of the alternate universe Best There Is At What He Does…

Marvel Legends Avengers GamerVerse Abomination Build-A-Figure REVIEW 2020

Review Avengers Marvel Legends GamerVerse Abomination Build-A-Figure

Although I wasn’t exactly giddy regarding the lineup of the 2020 Marvel Legends Avengers GamerVerse figures series, four of the six figures with Abomination Build-A-Figure parts were comics-based and thus must-buys for me, so I decided to go for broke and ended up buying GamerVerse Iron Man and Ms. Marvel to complete the Build-A-Figure. The Marvel Legends GamerVerse Abomination BAF is selling for 60 bucks by his lonesome on eBay—but is he worth building or buying outright at all?

REVIEW: Marvel Legends Leader (2020 Avengers GamerVerse Abomination Series)

Posted on by July 18, 2020
Marvel Legends The Leader Review Hasbro 2020 Avengers

This year’s sole wave of Avengers Legends is a real anomaly in the modern era of Hasbro Marvel Legends in that, well… I don’t particularly want half the figures in the wave (including the Build-A-Figure!). Maybe I’ll turn around completely once the Square-Enix Avengers video game hits, but for the moment, this GamerVerse Marvel Legends Abomination Series is leaving me cold. Luckily, half the wave is composed of comic book characters, including the subject of today’s review: is it worth following The Leader Marvel Legends figure all the way to checkout?

Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse Jean Grey Figure Review

Jumping back to my series of X-Men Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse wave figures, today I’m going to check out the token female figure in the series! In one of her most unique looks ever, it’s the Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse Jean Grey figure that’s available online now! AOA Jean Grey comes with a whopping zero accessories of her own, but also one of the biggest Build-A-Figure parts ever—does it even out and make her a worthwhile purchase?

REVIEW: Black Widow Marvel Legends Crimson Dynamo Build-A-Figure

Posted on by July 4, 2020
Marvel Legends 2020 Black Widow Series Build-A-Figure Crimson Dynamo vs. Iron Spider Man

While it was a virtual certainty that we’d see a Marvel Legends Black Widow movie series in 2020, I don’t think many folks would have placed money on the Build-A-Figure of the series being Gennady Gavrilov, the 8th Crimson Dynamo who debuted in the 2003 “Crimson Dynamo” limited series! The rationale for the Marvel Legends Crimson Dynamo BAF being included in the Black Widow wave was obviously “Russian”, which is a little bit of a tenuous connection. But does that make this a bad figure? Not at all…
