Sideshow Collectibles has been hitting a lot of home runs lately with their ongoing series of Marvel Premium Format Figure quarter-scale statues, although a majority of their recent offerings are new visits to previously-produced characters. We’re fast approaching the Venom 2 movie hitting theaters in October, and that means merch season is about to be in full swing. San Diego Comic Con is generally the singular biggest event of the year for Sideshow Collectibles to unveil new statues at, and while SDCC 2021 isn’t *really* happening this year as a physical show, Sideshow has been holding their own Sideshow Con 2021 this week instead! I’m somewhat disappointed in the lack of new X-Men statues from them, but Sideshow otherwise hit us up with a grand slam of other new headliner 1/4 statue Marvel Premium Format Figures: Venom, Carnage, Captain America and Black Widow!

After hitting 1/4 statue collectors with a veritable deluge of X-Men statues over the course of about two years, Sideshow Collectibles hit the brakes and slowed things down considerably once the pandemic hit. Other than a (rather awkwardly posed) Brown Costume Wolverine, Sideshow has launched zero new X-Men statues since 2019. While Sideshow Collectibles’ Marvel sixth scale figures line got off to a rocky start with a 1/6 Deadpool that’s still available over half a decade after going up for sale (seriously), the figures that came after him sold much better—including the Brown Costume Wolverine that swiftly sold out and escalated in value on the aftermarket. Turns out demand for Logan wasn’t met, many collectors cried out for more, and here he is: the 1/6 Sideshow Wolverine Tiger Stripe figure is now up for order!
