Diamond Select Toys had a pretty substantial showing of upcoming Marvel statues at New York Toy Fair 2017, but believe it or not, we’ve already seen over a half-dozen more new pieces not shown at Toy Fair revealed and solicited just this month! The latest addition is a completely unexpected one: a 1:2 Scale Deadpool Bust! And half-scale Wade has a solicitation buddy—the Marvel Gallery Wolverine PVC Statue is also up for order!

Diamond Select had so much good stuff on display at the 2018 Toy Fair that I haven’t quite managed to talk about it all yet (although photos of it all are up in the Marvel Toy News Facebook album). Luckily, I’ve got the motivation to talk about one of those items right now—because it’s up for sale!

It may be hard to wrap your brain around, but now in the third year of the DST Marvel Gallery PVC statues series, Diamond Select is just now soliciting their first costumed Wolverine in the line! While we did get an Old Man Logan Gallery Statue last year, this Marvel Gallery Brown Costume Wolverine is the first costumed Logan in the series.

The rocky base looks a bit weird in the official photos sent out by DST, as the whole statue is just floating in whitespace, but the base and statue as a whole looked terrific on a shelf on display at Toy Fair.

Gentle Giant just launched their own museum-posed Marvel Collectors Gallery Brown Costume Wolverine resin statue earlier this month, but I think the Diamond Select Toys version will appeal to a large audience with its more dynamic pose and vastly cheaper price-point of $44.99.

Meanwhile, Diamond also had a big surprise to include with this round of solicitations: a big bust! Sculpted by Rocco Tartamella, this 1/2 Deadpool Bust (labeled as part of a new “Legendary Comics” series) is the largest that DST has ever created! And as half-scale, the level of detial on this Legendary Comics Deadpool bust looks beyond anything we’ve ever seen before from DST.

With a limited edition size of just 1000 and a crazy-low price-point by industry standards of just $150, I think this 10” resin Deadpool Bust could sell out much faster than anyone expects. I’ve never been into large-scale busts (especially since life-size busts cost around $800-$1000 these days), but this is going to be my big bust cherry popper (try not to think about that sentence too much).

The Diamond Select Deadpool 1:2 Bust and Wolverine Gallery PVC Statue are now up for order, and are  scheduled to be released in September/October 2018. The Marvel Gallery Wolverine Statue is an open edition, so it should be available for a while, but I’m really intrigued to see how fast that half-scale Deadpool Bust sells out with just 1000 units produced!
