Hot Toys Sub-Zero Iron Man Exclusive Figure Up for Order!

Just when I thought that Hot Toys had already hustled movie Iron Man fanboys (like myself) for every possible dollar, they go and come up with something totally out of left field like this! Though we’ve seen this exact Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII armor released as a sixth scale figure no less than four times before, the unique look of the fifth time is going to be another guaranteed purchase from a lot of collectors. The Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man Sub-Zero Mark VII figure is now up for order!

Sub-Zero Iron Man Hot Toys Sixth Scale Figure

With 46 armors canonically worn by Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies thus far, you might think that Hot Toys would have more than enough to produce without making up totally new armors. But while Hot Toys is still creeping along, slowly but surely building the entire House Party Protocol Hall of Armor, they’re still flexing their creative muscles and creating new armor variants every so often.

Such is the case with the limited exclusive Hot Toys Sub-Zero Iron Man Mark VII figure that was officially revealed overnight!

Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII Sub-Zero Version with Chest Plate RemovedIf you’re feeling a sense of déjà vu looking at this figure, you’re right to do so: this is exactly the same Iron Man Mark 7 Movie Masterpiece Series figure we’ve seen previously repainted into Stealth, Midas and Battle-Damaged versions.

What’s new here isn’t any of the tooling–it’s the breathtakingly beautiful white and light grey paint deco covering this 1/6 Iron Man.

Hot Toys Iron Man Sub-Zero Version Exclusive FigureI’m a total sucker for arctic-themed anything, and companies can make an easy buck off releasing white “arctic” versions of old toys, knowing myself and similarly-obsessed arctic nut collectors will buy them.

Sub-Zero Iron Man Mark VII Hot Toys Exclusive FigureEven so, I think this is inarguably one of the most eye-pleasing Iron Men that Hot Toys has done to date–especially with the paint now closely complementing the white LED lights on the helmet, arc reactor and palms.

Hot Toys Exclusive Sub-Zero Iron Man Mark 7 Sixth Scale Figure

This figure is going to go especially nicely with last year’s black Iron Man Stealth Ver. Hot Toys figure, which was one of the most popular and fastest-selling exclusive MMS figures last year.

The white and black tones of the two figures complement each other perfectly!

Hot Toys Sub-Zero Iron Man Figure and Accessories

Sub-Zero Iron Man Mark VII comes with all of the accessories that you would expect: a figure stand display base, interchangeable hands and other removable/interchangeable armor pieces. Basically, if you’ve ever owned any of the Hot Toys Mark VII Iron Man figures (and what Marvel Hot Toys collectors hasn’t, at this point?), then you know exactly what’s going to come with this figure–just in gorgeous shades of white and light grey.

Sideshow Collectibles hasn’t announced the MSRP yet for the Iron Man Sub-Zero version figure in the United States, but I’m hoping desperately it’s much less than the ridiculous $360 that Stealth Iron Man Mark VII retailed for last year. I bought that figure at that price–and I like this one much more and would pay it for this colorway as well–but I would absolutely be bitter about the inflated price-tag while doing so. Grrr.

Sub-Zero Iron Man Hot Toys Sixth Scale FigureThe Hot Toys Iron Man Sub-Zero Version Sixth Scale Figure goes up for order this week, and will be available exclusively from Sideshow Collectibles in the United States. Last year’s counterpart to this armor, the Stealth Mark VII figure, sold out in just a few hours, making it one of the fastest sell-outs in Sideshow Hot Toys history. As such, if you want this particular highly-limited exclusive, you might want to think fast and make a decision early today so that you don’t miss out.

Sound off, Marvel collectors! Is this “Sub-Zero” Iron Man Mark VII Hot Toys 1/6 figure a worthwhile addition to the ever-expanding Hall of Armor, or do you see this as just being a shameless money-grab on Hot Toys’ part to cash in on an easy repaint of preexisting tooling?

  1. This is what I’m talking about and so on ‘ nice on my radar …??✌?️

  2. At this point they can make a pink version with Hello Kitty stamped everywhere and I’d still buy it. These things are gorgeous. As a huge Iron Man fan it kills me I can’t buy them all, so I just cherry pick certain ones.
