One cool thing about being a Marvel collector is that with the sheer magnitude of the number of different items released every year, you’re liable to run into things you didn’t even know existed when you’re out shopping casually. This doesn’t happen to me often (at all), but this weekend I stumbled across one of this year’s most bizarre Marvel lines: the new Kidrobot Marvel Labbit Vinyl Figures Blind Box series! If you’ve ever dreamed of owning Galactus in the form of a small plastic rabbit, now’s your chance…
While Kidrobot Labbits figures are typically chain-smoking, that doesn’t fly with Marvel, so instead each of the figures has either a weapon/accessory that sticks out of its mouth (like the Mjolnir coming out of Labbit Loki’s mouth) or an extra appendage to the figure’s body (such as the flaming ears on Labbit Ghost Rider).
The series includes ten different Marvel characters in Labbits form with the following case ratios:
- Deadpool (1/20)
- Venom (3/20)
- Galactus (1/20)
- Wolverine (3/20)
- Red Skull (2/20)
- Loki (2/20)
- Dr. Octopus (2/20)
- Dr. Doom (2/20)
- Punisher (2/20)
- Ghost Rider (2/20)
The hot figures from this series are unquestionably the one-per-twenty-boxes Deadpool and Galactus Labbits, which are selling pretty strongly for $25-$30 each. The rest of the Marvel Labbits series can all be found for under the MSRP of $10 each on ebay, so you’re better off just buying the figures directly instead of the Labbit Marvel blind boxes unless you’re specifically hunting for the Galactus or Deadpool Labbit.
I am a big fan and collector of vinyl figures, but, well… these are a little bit too niche for me. There are some really cute ideas in here like the mechanical arms coming off the Doctor Octopus Labbit and the claw popping out of the Labbit Wolverine’s mouth, but these particular figures just aren’t for me.
What do you think of the Kidrobot x Marvel Labbit series, Marvel fans? Will you be giving any of these figures a buy, or are these Marvel-inspired vinyl rabbits not your thing?
