New York Toy Fair 2019 Marvel Legends Figures Reveals List

Hey guys! I’m back from the New York Toy Fair 2019 Hasbro Media Presentation, which was one of the most mind-blowing experiences of my life–and that was just the opening song and dance number by the Hasbro higher-ups set to “Be Our Guest”! (Sadly, recording was expressly forbidden.) Anyway, I’ve taken over half a thousand hi-res Marvel Legends photos, which I’ll be uploading over the course of tonight to the Marvel Toy News Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Pages. Thanks and enjoy the coverage!

New York Toy Fair 2019 Marvel Legends Scorpion Figure

The sad truth is that in my old age, I can’t quite churn out articles at the same breakneck pace that I used to half a decade ago. It takes me time to write, so I’ll do a full write-up of the new figures once I get back from the show this week. If you want to see the bulk of the new photos now, though, be sure to follow and check out our social media pages!

2019 Marvel Legends Colossus Figure Toy Fair New YorkI’m currently writing up a quick text summary of all of the figures that were confirmed at the show, so feel to reload this article in about 15 minutes if you need an outline of the entirety of the 2019 Marvel Legends figures revealed at this year’s New York Toy Fair. I’m writing as we speak, so the list is in-progress right now. I’m sprinkling a few hi-res photos in with this list, but like I said, the bulk of the pictures are going to be contained on social media primarily this weekend.

New York Toy Fair 2019 Marvel Legends Figures Reveals List — 35 Comments

  1. Way to much to process, gonna need a second job. And to think we still have SDCC and the other conventions to go;what else could or might we see……

  2. YES Nightcrawler! Been waiting for him! And that Colossus looks great.

Never thought I’d get a Doppelgänger figure, excited for that (even if it’s on that terrible Six-Armed Spidey body, I’ll take what I can get).

Scorpion, Mr. Sinister, Julia, and so many more are much appreciated too. Nice assortment of figures.

  3. Crap, not at all what I expected. Like minus Wolfsbane, Sunspot and a new Blob all of my favorite mutants are being released

  4. Def need to know more about the Target Exclusive Homecoming Spider-Man (in blazer) and Mary Jane Two-Pack.

Kinda wondering why Caliban wasn’t the BAF for the X-Force wave and Wendigo for X-Men.

And is Hydro Man the BAF for the Far From Home wave, or has that not been revealed yet?

    • Nope! Sadly, they could only cost in the legs or the blast effect. I think they really made the right choice.

      • I find it kind of disappointing. I like power effects, but only if it doesn’t change the body. Which is why I wanted an actual Johnny Storm figure that wasn’t in Human Torch mode. In the comics, he was regular Johnny just as much as he was Torch. Luckily, with a Reed body and Scarlet Spider blonde head, that was easily fixed. Cannonball isn’t always blasting in the air, and I just think it will look a bit funny displaying him next to the rest of the X-Force members in standing poses.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the blast effect, and think it’s pretty unique, but if cost was a factor, I’d easily replace Wendigo as the BAF with Cannonball and get both the blast effect and the legs, and save Wendigo for a future wave.

        • I agree! I would much rather have the legs than the blast effect (which does look awesome BTW), but makes it look more like a statue than an AF, IMO.

  5. This entire list makes me very happy. Finally getting to cross off even more characters off my wishlist with a new Scorpion, Hydroman, X-Force Nightcrawler, 80’s Dazzler, and Silver Samurai, plus more. Goddamn 2019’s going to easily match and even beat 2018’s ML haul.

  6. I really hope that Cannonball doesn’t come with a BAF piece and instead with both legs and blast effect. Upper body and blast only might make him tough for me to buy, even though I’ve been waiting for the figure for a long time.

      • Maybe they will do like they did with figures in past and release the legs as an add in down the line with another figure. But I have to say, holy fu*#%ng s@&t?!!! Easily best reveal of comic figs hands down. I’m going to be buying everything but the movie stuff not to mention new power ranger line, I’ll be well over 2k$ by end of this year, chump change but a lot for toys.

  7. Damn, the pre-order on the school uniform Spidey and MJ two-pack sold out. At least Target does a pretty good job with keeping stuff in stock. Everything looks incredible. There are some figs I’m not that excited about, but even I’m almost convinced I need them, haha. Well done, Hasbro.

  8. Looks like one extra (movie?) figure and the BAF left to be revealed for SM wave 2. One would guess one of them will be movie Mysterio, but who knows? I don’t really need or want the two movie figures, so the BAF will need to be something special or I’ll just hunt them down individually. Very much a fan of Doppleganger, and hope we can get a few more figures to satisfy my early-to-mid-90s itch (Demogoblin, Shriek, Kaine).

  9. I hope they fix the color on Scorpion’s lower torso. Also, who picked that color scheme for Mr. Sinister? The black is awful.

  10. Amazing set of reveals I’m still processing. The 80th anniversary stuff is all incredible.

My list of personal must-haves after day 1 of processing:
    Scorpion
    Silver Samurai
    Nightcrawler
    Hercules
    Ebony Maw
    Shuri
Corvus Glaive 2 pack (why another Loki, ugh)
Hulk & Wolverine 2 pack (could do without the wolverine, tbh)
    Korg & Grandmaster
Alex Ross Thor, Cap, Iron Man.

That’s still a lot, holy cow! not including stuff from the rest of the waves already out and Caliban wave. I say again holy cow!

  11. Nightcrawler looks so good and makes me so happy I could cry. 😍
Corvus Glaive makes no sense being packaged with a Loki repaint. Corvus is still on my MUST HAVE list…but it is kind of insane that we have to buy a (admittedly better looking) second Loki figure to get him.
Hercules is still on my must have list.
Ghost was on a want list…but I don’t need or want Luis. (looks like an ex)
Emma Frost is a must have of mine…but I hope she looks better in the final product. I don’t know why, but the details painted on the legs look weird to me. All of the black she is wearing should just be glossy like she is wearing expensive leather.

  12. Welp, I was super excited until you told me Cannonball is being released as Lieutenant Dan-nonball. See what I did there? Its a no legs joke.

Look I still absolutely love all the comic figs that were announced. I can’t downplay that in the least because we are getting some awesome characters and relatively obscure ones at that.

But the whole “including XY or Z would cost too much” excuse is tired and extremely unbelievable at this point. Don’t give him a BAF part, make the waist detachable, bing, bang, boom – the end.

The Marvel license (and us fans who buy those products) are actually padding against the dastardly situations playing out in the toy market with the TRU bankruptcy, decay of brick and mortar retail, cost of production, cost of import, and more childhood interest in electronics for Hasbro:

“U.S. toymaker Hasbro Inc (HAS.O) beat expectations for quarterly profit and revenue on Monday as a jump in Marvel toy sales helped it recover ground lost in last year’s Toys ‘R’ Us bankruptcy, sending its shares up as much as 14 percent.”

That was just last year. Interest in the Marvel brand is only growing.

This isn’t the days of the dead ML line. It’s booming.

So, please, for the love of God, give Sam Guthrie some goddamned legs.
