Traditionally, LEGO doesn’t allow photography of its licensed summer sets until the New York Toy Fair that takes place in February. But some traditions are made to be broken, and at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2016, TLG is allowing photography of three out of the four summer 2016 LEGO Marvel sets for the very first time! It looks like it’ll be at least a few weeks before we see the Doctor Strange set, but the Spider-Man sets (including Scorpion, Spider-Woman, Kraven, Vulture, Scarlet Spider and more!) are looking mighty fine…

While most of the merchandising companies out there manufacturing Marvel movie collectibles are now looking ahead to the future and “Captain America: Civil War”, I was taken aback a little bit this week when I saw that Medicom is actually looking backwards by soliciting an “Avengers: Age of Ultron” figure that’s arriving a wee bit late: the MAFEX Iron Man Mark 45 goes up for order this week! This figure really does look terrific and has a couple neat things in his favor, but he’s also late to the show and carrying a heavy price-tag…

When Hot Toys first said that they were going to produce the entire “Iron Man 3 House Party Protocol” collection of 40+ armors in sixth scale form, my heart said “Yesssss!”, but my head said “That’s impossible–there’s no way that Hot Toys can pull that off.” Fast-forward three years later, and while there are still over a dozen armors to go, there are only two unique armors left to be produced–at least, there were until today, as the Mark XV Sneaky Iron Man Hot Toys figure is now up for order!

Considering the entire reason that the “Captain America Legends” line is returning this year in place of the popular “Avengers Legends” is the upcoming release of the “Captain America: Civil War” movie, I don’t think that any Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ figure collector out there hasn’t been expecting the imminent announcement of Civil War 6″ figures. And while I thought Hasbro might make us wait till Toy Fair 2016 for that reveal, I was wrong: the Marvel Legends Civil War Black Panther, Captain America and Iron Man figures have now been revealed!

Marvel Legends collectors were thrown a huge curve-ball yesterday, when the entire Red Onslaught Build-A-Figure wave (which, by the way, is called the “Red Skull” wave on the packaging) popped up for order on Amazon–despite the fact that they hadn’t even listed the Spider-Man Legends Absorbing Man wave yet that started hitting stores weeks ago! Now that the non-movie based LEGO Marvel sets for the winter have had a chance to appear, it’s time to look forward to the trio of sets that will round out the Winter 2016 wave from “Captain America: Civil War”! I wasn’t in the market for yet another vinyl figure line to collect (seeing as I have a major weakness for them), but I fell in love at first sight with the Funko Marvel Dorbz figures when I first saw them at Toy Fair 2015. Even so, the line got off to a rocky start at retail. Yesterday I kicked off my Marvel Legends 2016 reviews with the Living Vampire, Morbius. But while Morbius is the oldest Spider-Man villain on that list, he’s not the oldest villain overall.
