Marvel Select Winter Soldier Figure Exclusive Revealed & Photos

Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select The Winter Soldier Figure

Does the dearth of new comic-inspired Marvel Select figures in 2013 got you down? Thus far, Diamond Select Toys has released zero comic book-based Marvel Select figures in the second half of 2013, as all of the recent figures have been based on Marvel movies like “The Wolverine”, “Iron Man 3” and “Thor: The Dark World”.

But this morning DST announced the cure for what ails comic-based Marvel fans: an all-new Marvel Select Winter Soldier figure–and surprise–he’s coming in December 2013!

Captain America: Winter Soldier Marvel Minimates Lineup Confirmed

Captain America The Winter Soldier Poster

Yesterday, news leaked out regarding the previously-unknown lineup of Marvel Minimates Wave 55, the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Minimates movie series.

It’s rather appropriate that that news came out on Veteran’s Day, but some collectors were upset with the revealed lineup and a glaring omission from it. Those fans may be in luck, however, as it turns out that the rumored Marvel Minimates Winter Soldier lineup circulating is apparently incorrect…

UPDATE 11/13/2013: Diamond Select Toys has now confirmed the configuration of the Marvel Minimates Captain America: The Winter Soldier Wave 55 series to be as follows…

Kotobukiya Bishoujo Spider-Woman Photos & Up for Order!

Kotobukiya Spider-Woman Bishoujo Statue

When Kotobukiya showed off the unpainted Bishoujo Spider-Woman statue sculpt at New York Comic Con 2013 one month ago, we knew it wasn’t going to be long until we saw the official painted photos of the piece and the opening of pre-orders.

Sure enough, over the weekend Kotobukiya released glamor shots of the statue, and the 2014 Kotobukiya Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue is now available for order!

2014 LEGO Marvel Spider-Man Spider-Car Pursuit 10665 Revealed!

LEGO Juniors Spider-Man Spider-Car Pursuit 10665 Box

LEGO has done a commendable job keeping their sets for next year under wraps up until now, but as we approach the new year leaks were bound to be sprung–and one such leak occurred this weekend, when the Canadian Walmart website accidentally posted the first hi-res images of one of the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets. You’ll realize pretty quickly that this may not be the most impressive LEGO Marvel set ever, but the LEGO Spider-Man Spider-Car Pursuit 10665 still has a couple things in its favor…

Play Imaginative Iron Man Super Alloy Figures Delayed to 2014

Super Alloy War Machine Mark II Quarter Scale Figure July 2014

I’m starting to feel like I’m the bringer of all bad news and gloom these last couple days, but it looks like I’ve got a few more unfortunate tidings to convey.

After gaining some momentum and a lot of interest by their appearances at major conventions throughout the summer, Play Imaginative announced yesterday that their entire Iron Man Super Alloy figures line in both 1/4 and 1/12 scales will now be delayed until 2014…

Marvel Legends Running Change Figure Variants Still Not Scheduled

Marvel Legends Blade the Vampire Hunter Variant Running Change Figure Packaged

Yesterday we got the unfortunate news that the last two Marvel Universe Team Pack three-packs were officially cancelled by Hasbro. Not to pile on all the bad news at once, I decided to hold off for a day before spreading a bit more gloom. Remember all those Marvel Legends running changes we’ve been waiting for (some of which for over a year), like the Marvel Legends Dani Moonstar and Red Deadpool variants?

Well, apparently, Hasbro still hasn’t found any way of releasing those figures…

Hasbro Confirms Marvel Universe 3-Packs Cancellation

Marvel Universe Valkyrie Figure Hasbro 2013 Cancelled

Fans have been wondering about the fates of the final two Hasbro Marvel Universe Team Packs three-packs for most of 2013, and now the axe has officially fallen.

Though the news is pretty much what was expected, it’s still disappointing to hear confirmation that the Marvel Universe Astonishing X-Men and Asgardian three-packs are cancelled.

At least, in their current form they are…

Marvel Universe Aurora Review & Photos (Alpha Flight Variant)

Marvel Universe Aurora Variant Alpha Flight Figure

And so we come to the final female figure to ever be released in the Hasbro 4″ Marvel Universe line (in its current form). For their feminine grand finale, Hasbro has chosen to go with not one of the many women of the Avengers or even a well-known X-Woman. Nope, they’ve gone the obscure route with another member to add to the Marvel Universe Alpha Flight–Aurora! Alas, though I was pretty enamored with the Black Knight figure I reviewed over the weekend, my Marvel Universe Aurora review is going to be a little less positive…

Marvel Universe Black Knight Review & Photos (Wave 24)

Marvel Universe Black Knight Review

Though Hasbro has released so many 4″ Avengers figures in the Marvel Universe action figure line over the last few years that I have legitimately lost track of the number, we arrive now at the final Avengers entry in the Marvel Universe line. Thankfully, Hasbro opted to give us an all-new character never before released as a Marvel Universe figure instead of yet another Iron Man or Captain America repaint.

Making his first (and last) appearance in the 4″ scale, it’s the Marvel Universe Black Knight figure!

X-Men Battle of the Atom #2 Review & Spoilers

X-Men Battle of the Atom #2 Review

As a self-proclaimed X-Men fanboy, I buy every X-Men family book that comes out each month that doesn’t have “Wolverine” in the title (and one that does). So I was excited for this year’s big summer crossover (especially since I buy all the books it takes place in anyway). But, well, the X-Men: Battle of the Atom event has had high points and lows, and the event finale is unfortunately the lowest of them all. Beware, this X-Men Battle of the Atom #2 review will be rife with spoilers–but maybe after you read it, you won’t want to bother reading the book anyway…

Sideshow Exclusive Apocalypse Premium Format Figure Up for Order!

Sideshow Apocalypse Premium Format Figure Pre-Order

Sideshow Collectibles teased fans this morning when they announced that two “long-awaited pre-orders” would finally be going up for order today in honor of the last day of Spooktacular 2013! Most Marvel fans latched onto this tidbit with dreams of the limited Hot Toys Midas Iron Man 1/6 figure flashing before their eyes, as that’s easily the most-anticipated item not up for sale. Well, Sideshow did make good on their promise of a long-coming pre-order, though not the one fans had in mind–the Sideshow Apocalypse Premium Format Figure Exclusive Edition is now up for order!

Hot Toys Thor The Dark World MMS 224 Up for Order & Photos!

Hot Toys Thor 2 Movie Masterpiece Series Figure Revealed

Hot Toys saw fit to grace us with a pair of different Thor The Dark World Hot Toys Thor figures this morning. One of them is the super-limited Hot Toys Thor Light Asgardian Armor Version that’s going sleeveless, while the other figure is this standard MMS 224 Thor sixth scale figure (with sleeves!). In general I always end up wanting the hard-to-get exclusive Hot Toys figures, but in a weird twist of fate, for a change it’s the non-limited version of this Hot Toys figure that I prefer… and this Hot Toys Thor the Dark World 1/6 scale figure is now up for order!

Limited Hot Toys Thor Light Asgardian Armor Version Pre-Order!

Thor 2 Hot Toys Thor Light Armor Sixth Scale Figure

In a bit of a surprising twist this morning, Hot Toys simultaneously announced their MMS 224 Thor The Dark World Thor Movie Masterpiece Series figure at the same time as they announced the limited variant for the figure. If you’ve been waiting with bated breath for Hot Toys to churn out an unspeakably lame exclusive, you’re in luck! I’m one of those people whose eyes Hot Toys can ordinarily do no wrong in, but even I have to admit this particular limited Hot Toys figure is pretty weak. Coming in 2014–the MMS 225 Hot Toys Thor Light Asgardian Armor Version Figure is now available for order!

Marvel Universe A-Bomb Review & Photos (Variant Figure)

Hasbro Marvel Universe A-Bomb Figure

Through a welcome bit of good fortune, the Marvel Universe Abomination figure that I ordered from Amazon earlier this month turned out to be the Hasbro Marvel Universe A-Bomb variant figure when it actually arrived. The chances of me paying out the wazoo for this character were zero, but I was pretty ecstatic to get him for the $11.99 shipped I ended up paying. Of course, it would be a moot point if the MU A-Bomb action figure turned out to be a dud. Luckily, this Marvel Universe A-Bomb review is one of the ones where I get to talk up a surprisingly great action figure…
