Over the years, Hasbro has released many of the biggest and baddest villains in the Marvel Universe as Build-A-Figures. From Thanos and Rhino to Sauron and Apocalypse, we’ve gotten iconic villain after villain in BAF form. And now… we have a Marvel Legends Stilt-Man Build-A-Figure that can be assembled by buying the first Marvel Legends 2021 Spider-Man Series. I never expected we’d see a toy of this character beyond a Minimates figure, but here he is. This is likely to be the only 6” Stilt-Man action figure ever made. Is it a great one?
Continue Reading →Even though we’re almost a full quarter into 2021 now, only two waves of Hasbro Marvel Legends 2021 figures have actually hit stores. That’s a bummer since I like having ample new figures to buy, but I’m also thankful since I’m already way behind on reviews. But this week I’ll be knocking out reviews for both of the Marvel Legends Build-A-Figures so far—and I’m starting with the one that’s somehow even more Z-List than Stilt-Man! The Marvel Legends Tri-Sentinel BAF can be assembled by buying 6/7ths of this year’s House of X Marvel Legends X-Men series: is this a Sentinel worth building?
Continue Reading →Jonathan Hickman’s House of X/Powers of X is basically the equivalent of the X-Men holy bible in my eyes, so there was never a doubt I would drop everything to review this year’s House of X Marvel Legends X-Men Series figures as soon as I got the set in-hand. And after having to wait a few days for the last figure to arrive so I could bust open the whole set, she’s finally here! Marvel Legends House of X Marvel Girl is the fastest-selling figure in this year’s X-Men Legends series—let’s see if she’s worthy of the hype!
Continue Reading →Hasbro has been teasing us with a 2021 Marvel Legends series filled with villains ever since the second half of 2020, and today they have finally put all their cards on the table and fully-revealed the wave! Teased as a “Bring on the Bad Guys” series, the official name for the wave is apparently “Marvel Legends Super Villains” (probably a more logical name!) and is now up for order! And the Build-A-Figure is one I don’t think many saw coming: the classic Marvel horror monster, Xemnu!

Having already covered my favorite character (the anthropomorphic amphibian one) in the 2021 Marvel Legends Into the Spider-Verse Stilt-Man Series, let’s move on now to the character in the wave that I was least excited about. After getting a classic comics-based Prowler Legends figure in Lizard Build-A-Figure Series in 2018, I wasn’t really sure I needed an Uncle Aaron Prowler Version from the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse animated film. Now that he’s arrived from Amazon, have I changed my mind?
Continue Reading →Rumors have been a-swirlin’ all winter that Hasbro had a new Marvel Legends Maestro figure in development. Initially fans thought this evil, future Hulk might be coming in the “Bring on the Bad Guys” wave, but leaks indicated that might not be the case. And to kick off the second month of 2021, Hasbro has confirmed that (and this year’s second new ML figure)—the new deluxe Marvel Legends Maestro figure is now up for order! But while fans have been awaiting a new Maestro Hulk figure, this may not be quite the version some had in mind…
Continue Reading →Hasbro displayed some pretty rad figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 last February (right before they world ground to a halt), and one of the surprise figures that most captured my eyes was the Venomized Miles Morales Marvel Legends Venom Venompool Series figure. I‘ve been a big Miles fan since the character’s creation, and after a deluge of Spider-Verse styled merch for that version of Miles Morales Spider-Man, I was excited to see a fresh symbiote version. Now that I have the final product in-hand, is Maximum Venom Venomized Miles Morales a winner?
Continue Reading →If anyone needed any evidence that absolutely nobody from the Marvel Comics universe is off-the-table anymore for getting an action figure, I point to the subject of today’s review: Spider-Man Marvel Legends Frog-Man! I had hope in my heart that I could review the Fabulous Frog-Man as my first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 review, and finding him by surprise before my online pre-order could arrive has made that dream a reality! Is Hasbro off to a good start with my first most-anticipated action figure of 2021?
Continue Reading →A new year is upon us in 2021, but even with the new year and the president, we can still rest assured that the consistency of a new round of Diamond Select Toys Marvel solicitations will come each and every month. And this month, while there’s no Marvel Select figure news, there are new additions for fans of the rest of DST’s lines: the Marvel Animated Gamora statue, Premier Collection Lizard statue and Marvel Gallery Wolverine PVC figure are all now up for order!
Continue Reading →Thought we were done with Hasbro Marvel Legends reveals for the year after last week’s blockbuster Marvel Fan First Friday…? We thought wrong! After being teased in the fall, the 2021 Marvel Legends Firestar Exclusive figure has been revealed and is now up for order! And yes–she comes with Ms. Lion the dog and an animated alternate head! Is this the Firestar you always wanted, Marvel collectors?
Continue Reading →While the big hype coming out of today’s final Marvel Fan First Friday of 2020 is unquestionably pre-orders opening up for the 2021 Marvel Legends X-Men House of X Series, that doesn’t mean Hasbro didn’t have plenty of other goodness to show off during the stream! In addition to the the full reveal and pre-orders opening up for the amazing new Marvel Legends MODOK figure and an Exclusive Dusty Deadpool movie figure, we also got news on a new classic Ultron, Cannonball (with legs!!), Fallen One Silver Surfer with Mjolnir and more!
Continue Reading →Hasbro has delivered time and time again with their Marvel Fan First Friday livestreams throughout 2020, and for their final one of the year, they’ve done so once again! After first teasing a House of X series of X-Men Legends way back at NYCC 2019 in October 2019, they slowly revealed the contents of the wave throughout 2020. And now, not only has the full lineup been revealed with the just-announced Tri-Sentinel Build-A-Figure, but the Marvel Legends X-Men House of X Series of figures is now up for order!

We are living in an unprecedented era of Hasbro giving us a deeper cut of Marvel characters as action figures than has ever been seen before. As such, not every character will be to every fan’s liking. That’s how I felt about today’s review subject. While you have to buy the whole 2020 Marvel Legends Venom series to build the Venompool Build-A-Figure, I was hellbent on hating this BAF. But once I got him assembled, well… I felt a little different…
Continue Reading →I really, really miss events and conventions. Not heading to New York City for NYCC last month, not doing SDCC coverage, and knowing there won’t be a NY Toy Fair in February is a real bummer. But I have to admit—Hasbro has upped their social media game substantially, bringing us a record number of digital reveals this year! And today, we Hasbro revealed and opened pre-orders for the full Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2021 Stilt-Man series! And believe it or not, the Stilt-Man BAF isn’t the craziest thing in this wave: the Fabulous Frog-Man is legit on the way!
