Wolverine is miles away from being one of my favorite Mutants, but he’s such a central figure on so many X-Men rosters across eras that I own dozens of figures of him. Kotobukiya’s Marvel ARTFX+ line of 1/10th scale PVC statues used to rule the land, but in a changing market with increased prices and much more competition, Koto has definitely stumbled a bit in recent times. They unveiled their new high-end line of plastic 1:10 Marvel ARTFX Premier statues at New York Toy Fair, but collector response has been lukewarm thus far. With the embargo lifted off of Avengers Endgame spoilers, we’re beginning to see the full force of movie merch solicitations finally starting to pour in. And perhaps the company most capitalizing on the rollout is a surprise—Iron Studios! Hasbro has had far more hits than misses since the Return of Marvel Legends began in 2012, but occasionally there’s been a hiccup along the way. That’s less than half the price charged for Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet last year! And the 1/4 Iron Man and Hulk versions are both under 150 each! I am shocked and very pleased with this pricing! The most-anticipated series of every year for a large contingent of Marvel Legends collectors is the annual X-Men Legends series, and while we’ve got some offshoot waves coming later in the year, the core wave has begun arriving!
